I did read the entire post and plenty of of other articles mentioning that drop in accounts. I'm not saying I believe, just find it strange and also I'm not taking any report from China as gospel

I hope you're not calling me what I think you are.
Don't indulge in calling people anything, waste of all forms of energy.

I quite honestly don't understand your point, the source of those figures is a Chinese Government ministry.

The explanation of the most probable reason for the reduction in numbers comes from an US international communications magazine.

Don't know how that is strange.

Flagged this yesterday on one of your posts giving out about PPE. Fair play to EI and their crew

If Leo can go up in credits wit me after his national address, then so can conor mcgregor.

Fair play to him if he is doing that, i dont see any news stories about Denis O'Brien, Jp mcmanus, Larry Goodman doing the same.

Hold on, I'll set up a twitter page called JPMCMANUS fan. Then make up a rumour, with no quotes etc from JP and people can call him a hero too.

P.S. Hows Ronaldo's hotel getting on as a hospital?

Does any Irish companies make? We need to protect the healthcare frontline

There's a company in Limerick area that have doubled output in the last week or two - now making over 2.5M masks a week.

The government appear to be struggling to get it and they have an entire airline at their disposal.

I'm curious how Conor will get round it is all.

They literally placed the order in the last few days and will start arriving by the end of the week.
Do you want them to just magic it up overnight?

No it's not, triaging those seeking tests is designed to achieve that.

'Flu statistics are irrelevant, UK found out hard way.
In terms of positive tests they are not irrelevant and they did expect this to show a much higher rate.

The UK are saying that have ordered 3.5m 15 minute home testing kits. These will be tested using the standard test initially before a full rollout.

If they are accurate then it is a game changer

I read that they were still taking a softer approach, long after others have done a 180 on the same. What do they think is unique about their country that hasn't worked elsewhere?

    No idea.

They are allowing public gatherings of up to 500 people! Anything over is banned.

The head of their public health agency said the country "cannot take draconian measures that have a limited impact on the epidemic but knock out the functions of society".

Is Adare Manor his, could some closed hotels be opened for quarantine isolation positive carriers or even as hospitals for serious cases but would mean more health care workers needed

    Wrong.

Governors have a lot of power in these times, its up to Governor Cuomo to decide whether or not New York state can re-open, not Trump.

It could indeed. Everybody is watching everybody else to see what works.

"Buying them" isn't the problem , taking delivery is.

Don't get me wrong - Him spending his own money is fantastic and he's a guy that I'd have absolutely zero time for generally so fair play to him for the donation , but any suggestion that the Rich/Famous can get any of this stuff faster than Governments just isn't true.

Yeh thats true, would be interesting to see a growth chart of Dublin beside the rest of the country. Dublin is probably much closer to the 30% growth rate than the rest of Ireland

Exactly. That's why I never believed the 15k figure. They were forecasting from the Italian figures but if you look how people live in Southern Mediterranean countries its mainly in Apartment blocks. I remember watching a documentary about SARS and they showed how it spread through apartment blocks. Most people in Ireland even in Dublin live in Semi-D or detached houses. That's why the figures will be a lot lower. It's safe to say even at present the figures aren't much to do with the measures put in place but more to do with our population and population density.

I'd say proportionally Uk and Netherlands willbe the worst affected European countries after Italy and Spain

At Federal level yes but each state still has a lot of power, each state basically sets it's own domestic policy for the state. For example a U.S. state would have much more power in the U.S. than say Scotland would have in the U.K.

explain the dramatic drop in A&E numbers?

I bet given access we would see a dramatic drop in referral letters to them.

There is simply no other explaination then less referrals from gp's to them.

Great post regarding the sudden drop off in hospital numbers as soon as this crisis hit. The GPs were sent a directive to stop sending non medical emergencies to our hospitals. For obvious reasons I can't post the source up on an internet forum. When this crisis has passed I truly hope that the HSE, the government, and the GPs get together and deal with the amount of people clogging up the service with minor ailments allowing our A and E departments to deal with real true emergencies and not having to deal with all the time wasting that was going on before. Let's hope something positive comes out of it anyway.
