Trump is going to be responsible for 1,000's of deaths in the US.

They need the 25th amendment enacted to get rid of this moron.

Why are they constantly reporting a lockdown,

Boris never said the word lockdown,
Told people they can go too and from work if they can't work from home.
People can have multiple walks outside and just say it's there first walk of the day
    You can do your shopping
    You can walk your pets

My definition of a lock down is like in Spain.
Maximum of 2 people in a car
You can't walk the streets unless you can prove you are going from A to B (shopping, chemist, walk dog only to do their business and straight back home)
€600 fines for people on the street.
All shops, cafe's, beaches and businesses closed
Real enforcement by the police and army

    Spanish enforcement of their lockdown:

Is it Mainly travel transmission in the countries where it’s summer ? what impact will the change in seasons have is a big unknown

Depends on your definition of "travel transmission". every case outside china can be related back to travel transmission.

Did he make the connection between Diarrhea and people having worse symptoms or a more severe case of the bug ? I cant remember where I heard that, just curious if hes also seen this happen . .

I would also wonder that if people end up on hospital with breathing difficulties would a few of them forget or fail to confirm that they had diarrhea ? (when you cant breath, going to the toilet would be the last thing on your mind).

One thing that scares me in relation to this. I emphasise that this is speculation but it stands to reason in my mind.
    • you could have covid with mild symptoms and diarrohea
    • someone in household could have a bad dose with more respitory symtoms
    • that person using the same toilet could be exposed to increased viral load envioronmentally via aerosol
    • thus worsing their respitory symptoms.

Some of the video above is from about 5-7 days ago, at the start of restrictions in Spain. I'm not sure that those incidents are still an on-going issue. They were initially as you'd tourists who were behaving pretty ignorantly and not complying with beach closures and so on.

What are the chances that the actual covid 19 virus is seasonally affected ? Not the hospitals response but the virus itself

All of these countries have a tropical climate:

With the new measures coming in, what will that mean for deliveries from online stores for non essential goods (electronic, clothing etc)?

Hubs went to Lidl on Sunday. It was well-stocked. We got everything on our list except for rice and eggs. Eggs are the gold dust item currently, I’m finding. Probably a surge in home baking happening.

Which I find frustrating as I have Chickens, but they're old girls now and don't lay anymore .

People asking in different threads if barbers are still open? What reason is it at the moment for people to get a haircut?

it was the last thing an 80+year old male persom I know did, 4 weeks ago. Probably, sadly incase they die. I dont think the reality of a closed coffin and possibly a cremation had struck home yet.

Well, in the US, on one side of the house you have them screaming that the medicine and associated huge economic damage is worse than the effect (deaths). On the other side, the appear to me willfully hoping for a massive **** up that will swing the November presidential election in their favor. The whole political system over there is huge a mess! Always is! If/When they get "President Biden", it'll be the very same, except the opposite way around!

yes indeed they are - when the lockdown went into force in Spain.

The Spanish cops didn't mess around.

Where is it summer right now in the world. Australia is in warmer season and only has 2k positive tests, nobody said it would disappear in the summer seasons but the numbers getting it might reduce.

I'm not picking on you here MOR316 but it is alarming that this is not general knowledge at this stage and may help explain why we continue to have so many in the country flout the recommendations made by the HSE et al.

This added to the questionable statements about wearing masks, the 15 minute nonsense, and no highlighting of the potential for aerosolised transmission could be doing untold damage in this country

What are Londoners supposed to do if they're expected to go to work? It's easy to judge others and point the finger, but unless the government shut more places down I don't see what they're expected to do but continue on as they are.

I agree, the underground closed off many lines which meant the remaining opened lines were going to be used by everyone and more often as people now have to get 2 or 3 trains to their work as opposed to only 1 train.

It would have made sense to leave them all open and even put on more trains and ask key service companies to allow staggered working times so there are less people on the tube at rush hour....but then again that would have been the sensible thing to do.

    Spanish enforcement of their lockdown:

As regards lockdown can we see similar scenes for those flouting the rules. I'm open to a different sound track / maybe something traditional etc.

There's no data on it as the virus is too new. Here's to hoping, but it's still pretty active in hot places.

Also, seasonality may well be to do with cold weather causing people to be in easy-to-spread high densities. So, the various mitigation measures may be creating the same effect i.e. spreading people out and making transmission less easy. There are a several theories on seasonality but, the changes in human behaviour in hot weather may be a lot to do with why certain bugs don't spread.

Good answer , top marks , instead of the trump bashing!

I believe that they are unable to reopen the stations and run more trains due to staff shortages. Only a matter of time until the army are checking everyone entering tube stations to make sure they are essential workers IMO

Large increase in cases in equatorial and tropical and desert climates lately would make it unlikely

    Hantavirus is decades old.

It has a mortality rate of 38%

If that got out, we'd be begging Coronavirus to come back! But it's much harder to get!

the question I’m positing is how affected by the summer is community transmission - xertz has a decent opinion on it , I’d refer to that

Hantavirus is fairly prevalent in Europe if I remember correctly from a case we had here in 2012 of a German tourist.

I watched videos of ordinary people in China on youtube showing how is their daily life going

and what all measures thy ar taking to stop the spread.

i really found it impressive and also so consciously socially-responsible as oppose to scenes that may be seen in eg some areas of dublin..

Along with some of those symptoms, CNN was also reporting that a sudden loss of taste or smell has been associated with a lot of mild cases, as it has for previous coronaviruses apparently.

I think we'll probably get a better picture in the coming days and weeks of what mild cases look like, so we'll have a better chance of isolating and containing the spread.

A friend has it and she lost her taste. A colleague opposite me has lost taste and smell but is fine apart from that. Not recognised at symptoms here so no home office for him. We're in IT for a food giant so limited on site support is required.
