Or possibly following the guidance from the department and trying to avoid the possible doxing of a sick student?

“As always” maybe could be a bit strong, I would suggest.

Appalling fella. Attempting to sound like they are doing the right thing while clearly not doing so at local level and desperate to stay in business fully.

Every other sector were being urged to shut down voluntarily, and were rightly praised when they did. But the construction industry want to wait until they are ordered to do so, thereby risking lots more infections.. Disgrace.

An advert break with 1 advert, for the tv licence.

I wonder when the lockdown comes, would going out to buy a tv licence be seen as essential?

As you can buy it on line ...probably not ?

Ciaran Mullolly did a report on the TV news the other evening with a creche owner saying that they shoud be allowed to re-open for essential workers. I remember thinking that unless the kids were being kept in separate rooms, this is a crazy idea. (Obviously I have every sympathy for essential workers with small children).

Then yesterday the GP on SOR (rightly) says that it is impossible to maintain social distancing with small children.

How can Dee Forbes justify Rick O'Shea being on Sean and RTE Gold at the same time. I doubt it is the segment with Sean is the one that is pre-recorded. Shows how much consideration he has for his regular Gold listeners

Listening to Sean speaking to the woman from the travel company in Bray today, she was making lots of excuses for not returning people's deposit/money who have booked a holiday with her company and are now not refunding them. Companies offering a voucher or an alternative date for holiday booked is not on. She even said herself that she may not be in business because of Covid 19. There is a law there to protect consumers so why is it being ignored by some companies. Was disappointed Sean did not pick her up on this, felt he let her away too lightly.

Heard Sean giving a grilling to Paul Reid ( who continues to impress)of the HSE today. Whatever about forward planning I believe the HSE are doing a good job in the face of this unprecedented crisis.

There are a lot of legacy issues in health which predated Reid's arrival and they also have to contend with political as well as economic and policy issues.

May be somebody could give the RTE head a similiar grilling although I do think they have stepped up to the plate as a public broadcasting company.

With no sport taking place for the foreseeable future and most of their sports people on fairly hefty wedges...how are they being deployed during this period.?

Any wage cuts...any reduced hours...how are they dealing with contractors ?

These are salient questions that somebody might ask ?

Sure ! I guess some will see an opportunity to "indulge themselves" but I was thinking of something more substantive...the likes of George Hamilton / Tony O'Donoghue / Mil.Corcoran / Marty M / Darragh Moloney / Yvonne Ni Chuilleann / Hugh Cahill etc etc

Big wedges there ............I know there are contracts etc but has not all employees got employment contracts now ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,708 ✭✭✭serfboard

    George Hamilton
George Hamilton has had a show on Lyric FM called "The Hamilton Scores" for over a decade now.
