The very least to be expected from the HSE after the Cervical Smear enquiry was that they had sorted out issues to do with notifying the test result findings to patients and put robust SOPs in place - they haven't.

I have had an increasingly bad feeling in my gut arising from their obfuscation of the figures, but hadn't really believed that the old system was still in place.

I doubt that, many many people have been tested more than a week ago and have no results, so maybe it is from test results rather than tests but we dont know if its test results from today or 3 days ago or 5.

Farmers got **** all help last year before this crisis, the vast majority of them are working full time jobs to subsidise the farming enterprise, when the 9-5 packs in i doubt they'll be entitled to claim the out of work allowance yet they'll still be expected to provide food at a loss.

Farmers won't have a pot to piss in but they won't starve either, think carefully before berating the hand that literally feeds you.

The good posts are there but who has the time or desire to trawl through the acres of shiiiiiite to find them?

I agree with the line that you really, really, really need to think carefully and plan carefully for when you do the 'full lockdown' bit.
After you do, there's really nothing left in the weaponry.

However, I think a phased drafting of police maybe army at say amenities (beaches, parks, sights etc) to gently disperse the wnkers would be okay.
It'd get people use to seeing them around before the inevitable.

Also, caravan parks & holiday homes etc should be a no-no (see Donegal for example)

Yup, our numbers might as well be the lotto when it comes to trying to see if we are doing better or worse.

I think things will settle next week when the results of our social distancing start to kick in. I mean the more cases the find now the better long term, at least thats what i'm thinking as of now.

Meat is too cheap, plain and simple. They dont get enough for it.

Im from a farming background so I know whats involved.

A garage can operate?
Marts are closed?
Courts are closed down but solicitors can go to work?
Postman can work?
The council can surface a road?
A man can come to adjust your satellite dish
A vet can go to look at a sick cow?
A food market can go ahead?
A landscape gardener can visit a site?
A farrier can shoe a horse?
