Statistics can be anything you want.
Ireland 4 deaths. UK 335 deaths.
    4 into 335 = 84
    5 million into 66 million = 13.2
Pro rata, Ireland should have 26 deaths.
We're up to six now, 2 more today.

What's the point running them now you can't get anything?

Half the ads shut be put on lockdown, no need for them. Fill the ad space with covid info etc

The possibly exploding bit sucked, but at least you could go to the tube station. You could stay there all night if you wanted.

And if you were like Gary Sparrow (Rodney) in Goodnight Sweetheart you could go back to 1990s .

But the question is are we included in the tested numbers? even though we've had no results?

The HSE doc earlier couldn't answer how long the sample was viable for, we could end up with thousands needing tested again. I think we have done well so far but they need to start giving clear numbers.

I saw a graphic from New York yesterday, the exact number of tests conducted in each area of the city.

I don't know about how long tests are viable for but some of those that have corona will test negative because its too early on and virus load too small. Recon the last few days are probably from the ireland italy match

    Ireland 228 cases per million.

    UK 98 cases per million.

Ireland - 1.25 deaths per million
UK - 5.6 deaths per million

The drug supply chain might be affected now by the ban on travel.

Trucks and containers still getting in.

You'd get more drugs in those than stuffing them up your balloon knot.

25% of irish cases are health workers 12% of Spainish cases. Why is this?

It has been pointed out that 25 are in ICU already, seems its been taken as a good number...
    It's not..

We are at the very early stages and patients who are admitted will get sicker and more and more will require more critical interventions.

Boris has acted too late,But he has now acted.
Whilst full lockdown might not be not appropriate there should be additional measures put in place here, Yes most are abiding to recommendations, but many are not and these people can cause substantial problems.

Its no time for panic but inaction will cost lives.

I glad now that I killed Betty and put her in the freezer. Sorry at the time as she was my favourite.
But it’s how she would have wanted to go.

    Farm to fork.

The much more important figure. Gives a more truthful picture of the situation.

Does anyone know the figures of tests per day versus cases?

The reason I ask is if we had double yesterday, but did double the amount of tests, we are still on the same gradient
Today's figures will be from tests undertaken 3+ days ago. You will only see the impact of increased testing later this week

Wasn't there one or more health workers on holiday in Italy?

RTE's Northern correspondent saying that the lockdown in the UK is putting pressure on the Republic to impose one. Trying to tell us what to do when they've only just implemented something from nothing until now. Fcuk off.

I had to pick up my SIL from the airport, and drove from Rathcoole then up the Naas Rd early this evening. lots of adults walking closely in groups in the village, 3 or 4 people. No social distancing, and these were people in their forties or fifties. Also several groups of teenagers, mid teens by the Subway.

Then in the Naas Rd, there’s a group of 10/15 teenagers playing chicken crossing the road just past the service station, all in dark clothing. Where are their parents??

My SIL arrived from Poland, via Germany. She had her temperature taken before boarding the shuttle, then again at the airport then here again on arrival.

I wouldn't say so, leadership is about being able to course correct. He has demonstrated that he can

They were saying on Sky that his decisions have closely matched polling surveys. If that's how he plans to make decisions going forward they're in for a long ride. That is reactionary, not leadership.

Couldnt you say the same for people that lost their jobs during the week, couldn't they plant a few spuds instead of looking for a handout from the government.

Some lettuce in a window box! Eamon Ryan

Well theyd need a handout to buy a few seed spuds

I feel riots and looting coming on in UK.

yeah especially in the London ghettos where the police already arent in control. We could be seeing a repeat of the 2011 London riots. Can see the army being deployed in some areas

Classic kneejerk reaction. Our Government was vastly more competent until the abrupt change of tact by Boris tonight.

Looking at the USA stats. Over 9000 cases today alone.

They've gone from under 1k to over 40k in less than two weeks. As I've mentioned previously, many aren't getting tested over the costs of hospitalisation.

Stay at home orders are enforced in a few states. People in our US office have papers they show to authorities that allow them to be out and about. Haven't seen any media from there today but there could be anarchy before long.

I don't watch regular TV channels. But are there any ads about Covid from the HSE. I guess there would be.

Most of those cases have come in the last few days. 5% seem to need ICU treatment . It takes about 10 days to get to the stage where the 5% are going to need ICU. So those 25 are from 10 days ago in terms of when they started to feel ill. I think the ICU will start to fill up quickly from now on, hopefully we will be able to handle that surge. I think they should increase the amount of businesses that are shut so as to mitigate that surge.

I wonder did that jump coincide with the cluster of cases at the nursing home?
