You'd be complaining if he wasn't out and about. Some people will contract the virus because their jobs require dealing with people. The aim is to stem it, completely stopping it isn't possible.

You should charge money for your mind reading ability! Or maybe not as you have a 100% incorrect record on predicting what I'd do in certain situations. :pac:

How about they participate in some social distancing, especially from those who are known to have the virus! Too much to ask?
You do realise that 60% of cases have no symptoms? How was it 'known' they had the virus?

Just seen pictures from a well-known scenic spot, social distancing not being adhered to there either. As someone said earlier, the mindset seems to be it's ok if i go out but other people should stay in. The government are going to have to bring in stricter measures if we are serious about slowing the spread of this virus.

I'm not the one trying to make this political!

This is a major crisis and fg are in control of our actions to fight against it. Their actions or lack of actions has and will play a massive role in those who get sick and die from this.

Stop letting your politics get in the way of this.
    Hilarious.

You posted your opinion and stated it was fact
I merely pointed out your opinion is not fact

It's not an opinion. The stated cases don't reflect the reality. This is a fact.

You’ve mentioned FG in every single post, and you have the nerve to claim you’re not making it political?

Get back under your bridge and isolate yourself.

My posts are about the action or more appropriately, inaction of those in charge.

It just so happens that that's fg. It means nothing to me if that upsets someone's political leanings. Completely irrelevant is this is not a political issue.

How long do you think it takes to transmit the virus? Because it sounds like you're wrong.

There are many different HSE consultants doing many different specialities. Thread carefully.

I wonder does this amount to a derailing of the thread? This poster is consistently trying to stem the talk of what’s happening with the virus and turn it into a political debate at a time when we need a national, all Ireland, European and global approach to defeating this.
They're pretending they'd have been ok with the government shutting everything down in January. Their obsession and desperation to blame is really unhinged.

Just looking at how busy the parks and public areas in Dublin are today, I think it is inevitable that much stricter measures will be imposed as the week goes on. We had our chance to self-isolate without restrictions and unfortunately too many people have failed to comply.

Parks are absolutely thronged. People have the best of intentions, but it is impossible to maintain social distance along footpaths and entrances if the parks are packed out.

Is that not what it said? Were they doing any social distancing at all?

    That's a fact alright

But it's not the unsupported opinion I called you up on that you were claiming a few posts ago as fact
    Ergo you are still bullsh1ting

Is it illegal at present for a public house to sell alcohol?

I don't think the Gardaí have legislative basis to enforce closure. However, this is a case of non compliance and as such I'm sure the Gardaí and HSE will inspect the premises in question.

I'm more concerned with the fact that there are people in the pub, most likely in close proximity to one another (rural pub) and not complying with the restrictions set in place. They could contract the virus and spread it to others. As we all know by now, the virus is highly transmissible.

The restrictions are in place to try and save lives and avoid further spread of SARS-CoV-2 among the population.

However, there seems to be a lot of selfish people out there who don't care. The people are inside drinking in this pub as the original poster said.

I reckon the younger people think if they get infected it's going to be very mild so they are seeing this as a great opportunity to get rid of some boomers:eek:

Yes same as the pubs. We can't behave ourselves so the government will have to step in.

Harris stated they do or rather he does under the emergency legislation.

Has adopted a very forthright position on this from the start. While acknowledging it is not their specialist area some good medical insights. On the social side, plans and the like not so much.

OK he's now talking about how he gets his food delivered to his house and engages in a 6-hour disinfectant procedure for the groceries. If this virus is as infectious as he's acting like it is, we are screwed. I'm just going to assume - for the sake of my mental health for now - that he's overdoing things a bit

I think people are making too much of a big deal out of this. I went for a walk on the beach today. There was a decent amount of people there. Everyone was adhering to social distancing.

It's easy look at a picture an say that people are close together so must not be adhering to social distancing, but these people are most likely family members living in the same house already.

I haven't been near any friends or extended family or neighbours for over a week and don't intend on being. My only public outings are to get groceries.

But I see no harm in going to the beach with my kids. There was other family's there that weren't within 5m of me let alone 2m.

Now that sounds loopy. Not just people saying to keep your distance (which is what some are pretending is the loopiness).
