1) banning forms from firing workers;

2) forcing firms to pay 80% of workers wages whilst not working.

Pretty big deals.

That one had around a 10% mortality rate, but infected far less people. And also seemed to fizzle out relatively quickly. (They still don't have a vaccine for that one either btw)

SARs only becomes contagious when the infected person develops symptoms.
SARS-CoV-2 (causing Covid19) is believed to be contagious even before people develop symptoms, meaning they could be spreading virus for a few days before they develop symptoms.

There was a similar well documented case of 8 Co meath businessmen going skiing in Italy at the same time. There flight to Italy was cancelled but not to be deterred, they booked alternative flights to Lyon, hired a car and drove to Italy. At least one tested positive for Covid 19 on their return. Brainless and selfish.

anyway all this is moot in a deflationary period. Imagine instead of deflation of 5%, you add enough money to the money supply to increase inflation by 5%. That gets you back to 0.

I haven’t been reading too much today and having a lovely chilled day today. Went for a walk on the pier around 5am, and not a sinner around. Was nice to get fresh air, even nicer that didn’t have to worry about someone brushing past me or trying to stop to chat.

I was looking at Netherlands figures, and they have moved from initaly herd immunity to now social distancing.
They had initally 3 cases in February 27,28 and 29 from people returning from Italy.

They currently are positive tested of just over 3660, with 136 deaths. The one question I have and which is very concerning is that they only have had 2 people recover and discharged. Their critical rate is 10%. Would it have been expected that more infected patients would have recovered by now in the Netherlands.

I want to change my mum’s pension Payment method to go directly to her bank account. I’ve downloaded the form but she doesn’t have a printer, mine is broken, the libraries and local Internet cafes are closed.

I’m sure there are others in the same situation?

And when this one does actually make you seriously ill, by the sounds of it it's every bit as severe as SARS! Leading to pretty rapid decline and death!

I find it strange that some people can be severely ill with this, and others can be completely unaffected. (Even small children)

I have to say it's great to see everyone adhering to social distancing as best they can...... But what is it with some women(I can't lie it was 100% all women)over compensating talking really loudly and obviously blowing their germs further than if they spoke softer and not as much... It's very annoying when most are doing their best.

Ps: I didn't mean 100% of women,.I meant the few today I've seen and heard doing it were all women.

What are the chances of 7 people in one group having exactly the same outcome 100% no symptoms? Pretty low I would say.

I do understand your point as I have never had the flu to my knowledge. I think the virus may be more widespread than many thing and many may not be aware that they got it. It means that the good news is that it may not be as deadly as we think, the bad news is that we all must consider that we are already infected if we want to prevent old and compromised people from getting infected.

A friend of mine shared a post by Richard Boyd Barrett on Facebook. It said that if you contacted him via Facebook he would send a printed form out. Probably get one more local but if not planning to leave house. Is there anyway it could be done online as I think some facilities can.

I've noticed supermarkets handing out gloves to shoppers with their trolley and staff wearing gloves alot in the last few days. Why is this ?

Best thing to do is to wipe down the trolley handles with the disinfectant that most supermarkets are providing and the tissues to do it.

The official guidelines and it was said by the chief medical officer in one of the press conferences over the last 2 days that unless advised by a doctor there is no need for gloves. If anything your more likely to pass on the virus due to lack of hand washing with the gloves giving a false sense of security. Frequent hand washing is far more effective. The question was asked of him in the sense of supermarkets and petrol pumps, the petrol pump one started as a WhatsApp rumour and grew legs.
