Great to see Holahan & the gang having a laugh there.

We will beat this I hope.

I've been thinking for the last couple of days we might see a few outlier countries in Europe in terms of low numbers....fingers crossed Ireland is one of them.

I think the logic was that they were useless unless you were actually sick. I think the reality is that there are thousands of sick people walking around unaware of their condition.

That is why it would be good for us to do this....to limit spreading to other places

We're all facing a sh1tstorm. We certainly don't need Merkel telling us how big this is.

Fair play to him for picking such a high number because he is going to come in way, way lower that. Thank God.

His address to the nation yesterday was, as i posted yesterday, scaremongering.

A success for the nation is you posting this kind of crap in a few weeks time.

Well given the massive work they are doing it's nice to see them laughing as I'd say they are up to ninety over this.

See mentions of breaks in mortgage payments from the banks. Wonder will landlords be forced to pass this on to tenants?

Daily numbers are just that. Plus 25% today, under the 30%. Yesterday 30%. Tomorrow could be 35%.

Italy was to have flattened after 3days plateau. Then high surge today.

Not +25% today. +5/69 = +7% (% increase in new cases is what the projections are all about).

A few countries getting smashed :( poor Italians.

    No.

Renters will be able to apply for supplement.

    Please keep up.

No mention of that on the news at all.

Please go and lie in it.

Our population density will stand to us.

Hopefully...but as likely to get in a supermarket or public park looking at the numbers heading to both and lack of distancing.

Lets support the drive to keep it below three times five thousand

84 people in hospital for the virus. Not all still in hospital.
    6 critical cases overall.

Not bad so far. Hopefully we can continue to slow it down.

Our numbers are encouraging in comparison with other countries at this stage.

Not anywhere near out of the woods but we seem to be doing ok.

I went to Spar in Fairview today and I was extremely impressed with peoples social distancing and precautions.

    Small glimmers. We got this.

Have they said how many tests they can actually process in a 24 hr period?

There is insufficient testing and diagnosis going on.

An additional 30,000 test kits are due to enter the system in the next couple of days, but whether the NRV lab can keep up is another matter, it may require the repurposing of pathology and agri science labs to keep up.

In other words, I believe that level of 60/70 is the ceiling of daily diagnosis and when capacity increases we will see numbers jump up.

Capacity has increased. Many labs around the country will commence testing soon and some already have begun performing tests.

Go on Ireland. We’re doing really well. It’s there for the taking now. 6 weeks from now we should be back up and running I’d say.

It's based on a percentage increase on yesterday's total cases, not yesterday's newly confirmed cases, today saw a 25% total cases increase.
