Why is the press briefing so feckin late? Every other country publishes figures at various stages during the day, why do we have to wait till so late at night to reveal ours?
Would you give over....they are a bit busy at the minute like!

Can someone ask them tonight HOW MANY TESTS HAVE THEY DONE?
Do you want us to shout it?

This is super serious and well done to everyone who are staying at home and following the rules...

A slight wrinkle though, in previous posts I've referred to my recently widowed 79 year old mother who is very active. I chose to work from home to keep her company as my siblings are away.
Now I worry about her health and am spraying disinfectant on her and I every chance I can get but tonight I found out she was a lighting c*nt to my deceased father's sister when she visited recently which was completely uncalled for.

Normally I would get stuck into her about having double standards etc and storm out to my own place but ...

I got stuck into her but had to storm into the kitchen. The tension is cruel. First world problems I know....ugh

Funny and tongue in cheek, but fecking hell I hope there aren't parents out there expecting their kids to still sacrifice sweeties amongst everything else they've sacrificed.

Is it fair to say that while we are all watching official testing figures going up and using that to judge Italy, that it will actually be the hospitals that will know first?

I know deaths are still going up but I thought that was expected at the peak when a health services is stretched. You will keep getting more deaths until it levels off to a make manageable figure.

I see czech republic won't allow people to leave their house without a mask or scarf.

Why can't we do something like this?

As other posters have mentioned before, it's the serious case figures, rather than the daily updates, that will be the real worry.

Our stats seem pretty good. Did we get a less severe strain of the virus or what?

    That's probably jinxed it.

I think the logic was that they were useless unless you were actually sick. I think the reality is that there are thousands of sick people walking around unaware of their condition.

    I know :(

Work colleague was licking her thumb to flick through pages from the printer today, they were my fooking pages

I dumped them in the bin, washed my hands and reprinted.

Some people JUST. DON'T. GET. IT.

    Are NCT operating as normal?

What are the chances they need to close, and how would it impact cars on the roads?

Could you imagine what this would be like before the internet?

On the upside less anxiety from bombarding ourselves with scary statistics in real time. But "isolation" would really mean isolation with the old telephone as the only real means of communication.
