We could all do with a night of raucous shenanigans but will have to settle for tea and a few ginger nuts.

    Ginger nuts :D;)

Movie night cancelled. Too many implications tonight. This morning Simon Coveny claimed he didn't expect any major announcements today. The gang on TV earlier didn't inspire me with confidence. I'm now in the non essential category of travelling back to the UK. Go back to earn a living and get infected or stay and not work as my previous gigs here have all more or less shut up shop. I'm expecting a major increase in cases.

A bit hard to do while practicing social distancing, I've found. Time to give the moggies their supper.

THE NATIONAL PUBLIC Health Emergency Team (NPHET) has confirmed there are 54 new cases of coronavirus in Ireland, bringing the total number in the Republic to 223, up from 169 yesterday.

Varadkar said “we need to flatten the curve” and that there would be an exponential increase in the number of cases over the coming days and weeks – around 30% per day. He also warned people to expect this to go on for “months, not weeks”.

The Taoiseach said that 15,000 virus cases were expected in Ireland by the end of the month but that most wouldn’t need treatment. The objective was to “slow the progress of the virus”, he said.

He also warned of the threat to the economy of the country and said there could be up to 100,000 jobs lost in the coming weeks.

Have you red hair? If you do, the answer is yes.

It still doesn't address the duration of closures or lockdown. Its vague. Expect "this" to go on for months?

Would be nice to know in time to reorganise our wedding.

    Hmph!

Having a drowsy head massage on the sofa. Must give it my fullattention. Night.

Widders, I think it will ramp up over the week. I'd say restaurants will be shut Wed or Thurs.

Just reading they are thinking of doing a travel ban, right when I decided to move back home. My mother was right, if it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all, heh.

Don't be so fatalistic lads, just take care of yourselves and be aware of the others around you, we can overcome this with a bit of common sense.
I shut the world out today, no reading the daily doses of speculation, got on with it. Went to the shop, got a prescription in the chemist, talked to neighbours and others at a distance and not for long. Whatsapped a few, called a few and vice versa.
Shenanigans are possible tonight I'm told too.

After watching that I'm glad I live in Ireland, I'm not in to politics at all but they genuinely seem to be doing their best for us.
