What's the source on that lineup? Nothing on the EP socials.

Picture on the FB banter page of the announcement

The lineup got a lot worse today. Apart from Foals (and the permanent fixture of the Chem Bros), that is very poor.

It doesn't matter how many times you go through this process. All I can see is Snow Patrol, Lewis Capaldi and Picture This. I'll be ok. I need time.

  • Snow patrol headliners.....seriously.......sorry line up just sinking in now I’ve seen past bicep

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,539 ✭✭✭Mike Guide 69

Rick Astley could have been a better headliner than some of those announced!!!!

Wow....so poor, it's frightening (even more than types of love ;))

    No Imagination (another Blondie reference)

I wonder can they actually come back from this dirge

Why do we do this to ourselves every year.

Convinced myself Tame Impala would be showing. Sigh.

RATM just doesnt fit that line up at all IMO

If they could tweak it to 'Rage at the Lineup' maybe? But you're right.

Bicep, Ian Brown, Aoife Nessa Francis. Other than that it’s mostly ick, over-familiar, or “who?”. Sure it’ll be grand.

Not great at all for my music taste. Very unimaginative IMO. Like Snow Patrol FFS for a 70,000 person festival that's very poor. It is clear the market they are going after - the younger people and I can see why. But just doesn't fit me and that's grand. There's ATN and B&S for others.

Although Black Country New Road savage. Everyone should check them out who's going!!!

//Dreadful. I've usually been optimistic when the line up gets slated on here every year but this one, I cant be positive about it. They'd need to drastically improve that in the summer announcement. Is their target audience teenage girls and no one else now?

RATM - Chemicals (was blitzed last time so hope to see them semi-sober this time) - Bicep - Ian Brown - Run the Jewels - Foals - Jams Vincent McMarrow - Rick Astley (FTW!).

Interested in Annie Mac, Mabel, JPEGMAFIA.

Looking forward to learning about the undercards.

its bloody grim for me too,
always happy to see Foals but surely they should be way higher on the bill

the undercard is pitiful which is where i usually get my thrills
I know theres more to come but still grim

Fck Lewis Capaldi as well!!! (sorry, that was therapeutic)

I can live with that line up. Will enjoy Chemical Brothers, Ian Brown, Foals, Run the Jewels. Will be off in search of other stuff during Lewis Capaldi, Snow Patrol & Picture This which is often the best fun of all. Listening to stuff I've never heard off through July & August and then going to see the ones I like live. Yip.

Not too shabby. Two great headliners and a solid undercard. Could be much better but not complaining with what we have considering thisis just round 1.

100 gecs' first time in Ireland ever, v exciting.
JPEGMAFIA was unreal in the Academy last week.
    Rina, Run the Jewels, Bicep.

I'll be happy if they put Foals on before RATM

If you can look past that there's some great acts on it, I had myself pre-convinced that there would be these (or much the same) all on it so the fact we have Foals, Denzel, Skepta, RATM, RTJ, BICEP, Little Simz and a few others I'm happy out, it's a fairly good mix too. In contrast to the headliners last year I really can't complain too much as I'd take RATM or The Chemical Brothers personally over any of those (The Strokes personally never did it for me past one or two songs). I can see if people aren't into hip hop there's a lot there people won't be happy about, but on the flip side it felt like we had about 5 hip hop acts on the bill last year with most being Irish apart from J Hus and one or two others I wasn't too impressed with.

Yes. That's why they've booked Rage Against the Machine and Ian Brown.
