Nope. We have a very slow growth of cases. We should be fine in a few weeks/month.

Except we have more cases per million than either the UK or Japan

Was the three confirmed cases today the Drogheda ones someone was talking over the weekend about??

If they weren't reported on Saturday, or on Sunday let's not be expecting them to have been reported on Monday. :)

This coronavirus lad on Claire Byrne live said he's young....and it's grand, just a fever, he's bored and he's fine.

Talk about luring people into a false sense of security with this interview.

This will be the norm for the majority of people.

What are the talking millions of people getting infected in Ireland, when even in china it was a few thousand. Are they hinting at how completely useless they really are?

    Reporters at Trump briefing

    '' have you been tested''

    '' have you been tested''

Seems he came in contact with someone who had it

Maybe coronas was sent by God to get Trump??..

    Sorry, not funny.

*Do not follow this joker's advice*

We are at the very, very, very start of a 12wk progression, of which caseloads will double every 5-7 days (at best).
The HSE said 1.9m confirmed cases is a real possibility.

Also, the UK's Cheif Medical Advisor said they want to reduce spread to 'just 50%' of their entire population. That's their likely best case scenario.
They expect to move to Phase 2 (of 4) in 10days time approx.

    What are the phases

FFS is always limited to one pack to stop people trying to overdose.

It’s not, I bought two packs together in boots the other day.

Coveney is being his usual, clear calm direct self. What a contrast to the rest of them.

The current number of cases doesn't make sense.

I would love to think you are right, but there has been little coordinated testing. The testing is still predominantly dependent on people coming forward to be tested, and then they are only tested if they are deemed to have been at risk of coming into contact with the virus.

We have unexplained community transmissions, and people who have been infectious and left unchecked for a long while before being put into isolation. We even had presumably more infected people coming in from Italy at the weekend, but who knows how many that is, because nobody is bothered to do any testing of them.

As someone said about Turkey, you can't have any cases if you never test for them.

    It's not SARS
    It's a new strain of SARS-Coronavirus.
    No it isn't, check wikipedia.
Wiki says it's a new strain of sars.
    The 2003 SARS was different
Yes. This is a new strain. SARS2
It's different, it's genetically related though
    So it's a new strain?

    Italy on lockdown from tomorrow.

No gatherings and no flights in or out without a good reason.

Nobody knows exactly how it will play out. It might be in the millions. It might not be. I think the government are right to be concerned, and right now Coveney seems a bit shook. I’d say the health people outlined in no uncertain terms just how bad it might be.

Also, China actually locked down. And it’s not over there yet. They still don’t know how it will play out either and there are concerns that as they get back to work, it will start increasing again.

The safest place to be in the world is China. Who would have thought we would have been saying that a month ago?

China are treating this like WW3. Them against the virus.
Oddly, the dictatership like system is suited to tackle this crisis.

The west is run by corporations who don't think of long term, but short term profits. We are full of individuals who are out for themselves and not forced to be united.

Seems we have ready accepted defeat without even trying to fight.
