    I can understand the arguments for doing it, but several experts have disagreed with the scientists proposing it and said the psychological effects on the nation could well outweigh any positives.

    Ireland is not a near dictatorship like China.

    At this stage, its gone native anyhow, the parade isn't going to affect that, maybe speed up the inevitable? Honestly think its not worth the business impact to cancel it now given that.

    Cork City and youghal have cancelled their parades.
    I think the rest of the city/counties should each come out and do the same.
    Who's in charge of Dublin?
    Would it be the mayors or city/ county boards?

    That doesn't mean there is Coronavirus there though. Given it's a nursing home the people in it are high risk so obviously the management don't want it getting in there to cause an issue.

    Couldn't agree more. Although going to tesco in midst of a viral outbreak where some infected person touched your cornflakes. You wouldn't be long in running out of disinfectant or catching it.

    Vested interests who don't want to lose any money. Say if Leo or somebody senior in FG or FF got this, then we would soon balls appearing and gatherings cancelled.
