Does the game have to be decided tonight, extra time penalties if necessary?

First one is a loss. We lost to Man City on penalties.

Chinese Whospers answered whether or not it was recorded as one or not.

2nd one was a senior competition, there were no specifics in his question.

but it was answered for you in the way you want it before you quoted mine so I hope all is good for you.

    ok hun xx

Norwich and Cantwell is the answer to this, I think. I don't know who else we're in the market for but the Cantwell rumour is strong.
    what position does he play?
I can only see us getting back up from the bottom three

In the highly unlikely event that Southampton go down I would get bertrand as back up for Robertson

Also think Duffy to replace Lovren might be a bit of a sneaky one.
Klopp seems to play Lovren against physical CF and Duffy would be well able for that. Also a threat from corners but really I would like an Irish lad in the squad.

Brooks from Bournemouth but injuries look to have done him in. Also would look for a starting position and would be in demand from other premier league teams.

I think Clyne (nico williams) ,Lallana (curtis jones) , Lovern (??), Origi(werner), Shaqiri (Wilson? he'll probably be sold) will all be leaving with younger players filling their position.
I suppose milner could do the LB job but the legs are starting to go so could be caught out against pace wingers

I think we are going to have two\three buys max in the summer - Werner , a classy number 10 (ox and Keita are not hitting their target for whatever reason - injuries mostly - i hope this is Sancho)

Gini is 50/50 to get a new contract not because he isn't good but just he is at that age where we can still get good money for him compared to if we let him go in a years time

I'll be irritated if we make loads of changes tonight. I expect a few for sure, but hopefully no more than 5 or 6. We've gone thus far, no more replays, doesn't matter if we lose another league game or two as long as the league is won. CL is obviously more important but starting to play with a bit of rhythm is pretty important too.

It'll almost feel like spite if we make 11 changes again.

2-0 now stupid penalty to give away.

3-0 now after just 27 minutes, game over surely. Real gulf in class between ourselves and Benfica, you can see why their academy is so highly praised.

I have a feeling he'll go strong with maybe 2/3 changes max.

Not necessarily because he values the game as high at the others, but because he wants the same players to get back on the horse after a few below par performances and a bad defeat.

I reckon the players are p*ssed off at themselves, and rightly so, and I reckon Klopp will give them the opportunity to go and put it right against a good PL side

Yeah, the players will be properly annoyed about Watford last Saturday Im so hoping they get a chance to redeem themselves tonight. One hallmark of great teams is that there is always a backlash after a defeat so I want to see a team tonight strong enough to hand that out.

Needs a strong team tonight to try and get the players rhythm in sync and get the tempo back

The odd thing about that is that real Goalkeepers are Fly keepers anyway.

    But, I digress. :pac:

3-1 at halftime and Jaros saves a penalty, so maybe not all over yet. Benfica look a class youth team tbf.

I think Salah is badly in need of a rest. I'd like to see a few changes, but not a completely new XI

    Alisson

    Williams---Gomez
    VVD
    Robertson

    Fabinho

    Milner
    Lallana

    ----Minamino----Firmino
    Mane

Origi is almost a certainty I'd say so I'd expect only one of the not so fab three amigos to start this.

Miner at LB Jones in MF

    Ahead of who?

Minamino needs games. Origi always plays cup games, and then I think we should be starting a stronger side so one of Salah/Mane/Firmino will play aswell. Who would he replace in the squad out of those attackers? And note we are playing away to Chelsea, not at home or playing a lower league team.

He has been at Liverpool for just over half a season, but he is still only 16. He could have another 2 seasons at u18 level yet. There is plenty time for him to play games. I think the way he is being handled this season is the right way. He is an academy player who is playing for the academy and gets minutes in the cups where possible. Keep his feet firmly planted on the ground and don't let him get too ahead of himself thinking he has 'made it'. There's a long way to go yet with him.
