    Look when this thing hits I will be home with the rice and noodles.

    Posters like Mic 72 are giving real numbers in context I find that very useful.

    On the limited data we have which I have read my GUESS would be at a 5% to 10% death rate.

    Telling people to be silent and not cause panic when they are calm and rational is not high brow.

    Nothing worse than tacky art that thinks it is a masterpiece.

    The man had contacts with previously reported cases in the North, he is still part of the original bunch of people being tested
    This shows how quickly the virus is traveling. Within one day people carried it over to Turin, Venice and anywhere in between

    Still amazed by the "only effects elderly or those with medical complications". Do we suddenly not care for our relatives over 60? Age is always a risk for your health, but most people will usually live to a fine enough age. Something like this, easily infectious and killing with ease without a remedy, could potentially get a lot of people well before their time. But I guess you don't really need them anymore eh?

    Yes and what about people with underlying illnesses I mean people with cystic fibrosis haven't got a hope if this spreads here their lungs are damaged enough besides getting this

    "The contagiousness of this virus is very strong and pretty virulent," Lombardy's health chief Giulio Gallera told a press conference today.

    But he cautioned: "Today it's not a pandemic."

    Something for both sides in that analysis! By the way, anyone notice how they say masks won't protect you yet we see all medical workers wearing one even in a chemist?

    I hate to be on the side who called this right I would be happy if the it will be grand brigade had of been right.

    Still no need for panic deal with reality or reality will deal with you.

    No need to panic buy Pasta Rice and Noodles to last a couple of weeks if you need to sit this one out.:)

    Two Chinese tourists from Wuhan are still being treated in isolation in Rome. Since these are tourists, they had to eat in restaurants, use rest areas, did some shopping, and touring. How many could these have infected, staying in hotels or hostels, how much of Italy had they already travelled, what flights and transport did they use, It is not a good time to be going on holiday at the moment

    It's understandable they don't want to say it though - although it would be a serious development, people would overreact.

    Speaking of overreacting, I've just booked two weeks leave at work I had left over from last year and just didn't end up taking. Hopefully it'll just be a nice holiday and not necessary.

    Cruise liners already seeing booking way down and cancellation numbers off the charts. Airlines are going to see similar very shortly.

    WHO under massive pressure now to get real.
