    Almost exactly 50% of patients on the Diamond Princess are asymptomatic positives. I dont know if that means they are never going to show symptoms or if they are still in the incubation phase but if it is the former case then there are likely several million cases worldwide already

    Yes it is likely many will experience symptoms as it progresses. But there are cases of children in particular who have contracted the illness and not experienced any symptoms throughout the course of the disease progression

    We still don't know enough yet but we still keep getting new information everyday.

    I see this is as a positive to be honest. Because perhaps it means only severe cases account for 70K confirmed infected.


    This would bring the death toll down to a ridiculously low %.

    There have been reports of people recovering having a relapse then dying.

    Look on the bright side people were crying about this being a bit racist to the Chinese it looks like it's time to say away from all those Pizza places and chip shops now.

    If India gets it next sure we will all have to go on a diet.:D

    See I am one of the people taking this thing serious and yet I am cracking jokes.

    Getting real information is not causing panic.

    I don't think we are all doomed but nor do it think sure it will be grand.

    The spread we are seeing is not good let us be honest.

    No it is my attempt to show we can take this thing serious without panic.

    Trying to brush things under the carpet is was causes panic.

    The constant drone is only a 2% death rate is annoying.
    People have recovered and relapsed and died.
    People who have tested negative have later tested positive.

    The thing seems to have a pretty long incubation period and the number of dead seems to be going up much faster the last few days.

    I find CinemaGuy45' s graveyard humour unobjectionable, in contrast to the point-and-giggle brigade who don't seem to have read any of the data, and ask why anyone is worried about a disease that only kills old people and ill people.

    Look when this thing hits I will be home with the rice and noodles.

    Posters like Mic 72 are giving real numbers in context I find that very useful.

    On the limited data we have which I have read my GUESS would be at a 5% to 10% death rate.

    Telling people to be silent and not cause panic when they are calm and rational is not high brow.

    Nothing worse than tacky art that thinks it is a masterpiece.

    The man had contacts with previously reported cases in the North, he is still part of the original bunch of people being tested
    This shows how quickly the virus is traveling. Within one day people carried it over to Turin, Venice and anywhere in between
