I think you get the full benefit up to 50k regardless of full price being over 50k.so benefit doesn't disappear if you go over 50k.

If you look at these cars for sale after 3 or 4 years of use the mileage is very high, they are the motorway mile munching class of a car more than any other segment, that's what they are built to do and do it very well. Even more so than luxury SUVs... I don't think electric with a small range will cut it in this segment at all.
Plus drivers of them (when new anyway) are business people who aren't concerned with a few quid of fuel savings.
In my opinion anyway.

Unusual to find an original Irish 335d. I’m guessing it’s ex BMW.
Adaptive suspension too which is a big bonus.
The interior has really dated in the f series but I suppose it was never brilliant to begin with.
With a two year BMW warranty would be a nice buy especially if you could get it sub 30k as it is a four year old car after all.
The warranty from BMW is a major selling point in my view as if things go wrong and they do can be expensive.

BMW really need to sort out Android auto, I noticed you need an Android phone to unlock the new X5 but the car itself will only work with apple car play. The mind boggles.

One of these in that blue pulled up beside me at a set of lights earlier. I remember thinking someone was saying that's a rare colour and then I see one.

Estoril blue has lost it's shine a little for me since it is so common now. It used to be if you saw that colour you were looking at something special.

Estoril blue has lost it's shine a little for me since it is so common now. It used to be if you saw that colour you were looking at something special.

I've never seen the 6 in this colour yet, in person. They are mostly carbon black, silver or space grey. I know the estoril blue was very popular on the last 3 series alright.

Beshoffs have one in sonic blue metallic which must be an individual colour and looks lovely too.

I know it's a dated design now but I still love the 6 gran coupe. With used examples you get a lot of car for the money.
That sonic blue is stunning.
I think BMW diluted the appeal of Estoril by slapping it on every model so it has lost it's impact.

I see you have a new Kia Stinger review up Mark. I noticed that is not on their website for last while. have they pulled it?

I actually checked the same thing today as I shot that video early October but hadn’t had a chance to finish it and it’s not on the site as you say. I wonder have they discontinued it here, I can’t imagine it’s a big seller at all. An interesting used buy down the road, even a 5 year old one will still have 2 years warranty left on it!!!

I wonder did WLTP and NoX do away with the Stinger? Shame they never put a 6 pot diesel engine into it instead of the 4 cylinder from the Sorento and Santa Fe. The petrol was never going to sell here and most of the few on the road were Kia Ireland cars. I know Kia have revised their range recently in Europe, the Optima and Optima SW have been dropped and the new generation Optima won't be sold in Europe at all.

A used Stinger would be an interest acquisition in the next few years just for the rarity and it not being another German saloon.

Looks wise I think they're fairly nice and different enough. Same way a fast Alfa catches your eye for lots of reasons including just being different/rare.

How did you find the Stinger's handling compared to a BMW Mark?

I was tempted to put the Stinger on my next car short list but I don't fancy the 2.2 diesel and the v6 petrol would just be too expensive for me to buy and run.

I met one the other day coming towards me from a distance and instantly it had road presence and stands out. As mentioned though, it's a shame they didn't have an engine suited better to the Irish market.

In a word, twitchy. You would feel more confident in a BMW with the traction on anyway. It got attention all the time on the road though.

I don't remember the diesel Stinger being rough, is it definitely the same engine?

I'm sure the majority would not but like people who buy Alfas etc there's always someone who likes the stuff that's a bit different. When it comes to being sub 5k though, who knows. A guy replied to me on youtube to say a new Stinger in Australia is the equivalent €40,000 - same car here is 67! :rolleyes:

That mileage? That's less than 15k miles a year which is well below average for a diesel. It is pricey though but too be expected from a main dealer with the 2 yr warranty.

In fairness he didn't say it was high mileage, i think what he mean't was for 32k it would have to have lower mileage, i think he is in a position to comment too as he just sold a top spec 435d for a fair few quid less.

We all know BMW main dealer asking prices are always high specially for the higher spec stuff.
For a couple of grand less though and with a two year premium used warranty attached that’s not a terrible deal. The warranty can be worth it’s weight in gold I have found in the past with a used bmw.
