    84% didnt vote for change.

Incorrect 4 more SocDem TDs , 10 more Green TD's , leaving out SF's vote there is already change ready to take place in the next Dail.

Nope. You can't even get that right. When communists / revolutionary socialists spoke about seizing private property in the long term, they were speaking about seizing the means of production. The idea that communists want to build a society where no one has their own home is propaganda.

You must have attended some of Richard Boyd Barrett's lectures about Marxism and Trotskyism.

Louise O’Reilly SF saying change every second word. She’s not the smartest.

They are both in the middle. Ireland doesnt have political leanings. It has personalities, slogans, image, and colours. SF have even less politics as they just make it up as they go along, with any line justifiable it if steps towards a united ireland.

Both middle? Mary Lou wants a LEFT govt. And FG are the most right leaning in Ireland. So they're opposites.....IMO

Louise doesn't fear another election.......that's good cause she won't get one for 5 years.......it's FF/FG/greens for the foreseeable future.

a lot smarter than the previous 2 politicians especially the one who mentioned socialist republicanism about 50 times.

She said she wants to form a government of the left which any one with an once of cop on knows based on the numbers available after FG and FF have refused to speak to SF is not possible.
If you think you are being clever repeating 'change' it's actually the opposite. You have added nothing but idiotic commentary since you opened this account. Your old one wasn't much better tbh.
    But the numbers aren't there?

Was she saying it for optics??

Your facts are correct, but maths incorrect.
26 of 158 seats changed by party. 132 seats were returned the same as 2016. Thats 84% stayed the same.

The 'the people voted for change' merchants really need to improve their analysis.

I only answer for myself if you want a detailed response to your query ask her yourself, but since FF and FG left the pitch someone had to do the responsible thing and try and form a government even if it is futile. Now it's up FG and FF to put the toys back in the pram and behave like adults.

26 of 158 seats changed by part. 132 seats were returned the same as 2016. Thats 84% stayed the same.

Regardless we're still going to end up with the same idiots we've had all along.

Can they borrow the pram that SF didn't use in 2016?

They might be the most left (and SF are only pretend left anyway), and FG may be the most right, alright. But in Ireland, that means they are effectively indistinguishable. If SF had won an overall majority. 90 seats even. When in office, they would behave pretty much in exactly the same way as any other general cross section of the Dail or election candidates. Average Joe would not see any different in practice. Faced with the same facts, constraints, resources, and decisions to make, they all end up making the same decisions.
(just SF has members of despicaple moral standing, and so are best avoided for that reason).

    FFG

Democracy in action. It's a fine thing to have it. SF might get their day in the sun, but they will have to get enough votes first.

FF and FG stood back for a couple of days to illustrate how ridiculous Mary Lou was with her notion of a left govt. Any 10 year old would have told her the maths doesn't add up.

Now it looks like FF and FG will negotiate and create a program for govt if the greens play ball.

The greens know they'll achieve nothing in opposition.

WE didn`t learn much from any of the three on Prime Time.
I suspect the two from FG and FF could have, but they are not going to spook the horses of their own supporters until they test the waters there first.

    Indeed. Thats good news.

Just correcting some of the incorrect conclusions people have jumped to as they try to understand the results.

sf had no chance of forming a govt in 2016, how could they when FFG will not talk to them.

Something wrong with your maths there...unless you are arrogantly ignoring those who voted for Lab, Greens, SD's etc.

I only mentioned the additional members of SocDems and Greens. These are new members of two parties that only had 4 TDs between them in the previous parliament. They now have increased their number by several hundred % which is a significant change delivered by the voters. Stop digging.

Probably right. They won't have enough magic money trees for their policies.

4 more Soc Dem TDs and 10 more Green TDs looks like a change to me, how many FF and FG TDs are now private citizens as a result of that change?

The Greens really are despicable if they prop up another FF/FG landlord/banker government. Certainly I'll never vote for them again.

    Nonsense.
Government is formed by the full Dail. Not one party. A party previously of and and increasing to 4 MPs is indeed an increase of 300%. But that doesnt mean change on a national level if thats only 2% change in the Dail. Thats not 'change' in the Dail.

I misread it as toys being thrown out of the pram. You said toys being put back in the pram. It's all clear now.
