if you took the time to go through that you'd see that their stats include a lot of categories we don't like disabled people and students , the last slide was the most important one and relevant to compare to our stats

That's a fair, I was trying watch Shrewsbury Town vs Liverpool at the same time and I didn't read through.

Its not a right wing country although I feel some SF supporters intersect with RW ideas.

SF is a complete contradiction. Aontu is basically SF, but a bit more honest. You can not reconcile being hard-line nationalists and being socialists at the same time, or at least you can only do so if you are never the executive.

There are alternatives if you look hard enough. The trouble is that you’ve to look for them.

Thats still 33,000 people long term unemployed during a period of full employment , extrapolating the 43,000 people measured in 2013 having never worked and tracking the long term unemployment rate the likely outcome of it is that there are still over 25,000 people in Ireland who have never worked a day in their lives. Which is scandalous.

It's a lot more in reality. Growing up in an area where this was the norm, I saw so many people claiming disability benefits having duped the system. It was essentially a free pass as they were no longer pushed to seek employment. Free travel passes were regularly sold or lent to people prior to the photo ID card coming in.

Ohh that too, rampant. The amount of mothers claiming carers allowance and about the only caring they need to do is pass their adult son another can. We're being rode rotten by tens of thousands of people in this country because theyre allergic to work.

How much is the U.K. paying them to do FA every week ? A fraction of here I think it’s safe to say. I’d prefer to have my income tax cut and spend it on an additional trip to Vegas every year and nice wines , Saint Emilion Grand Cru or a Haut-Medoc! What are the peasants going to spend it on ? A six pack of tuborg / druids glen cider?!

Good man, I’m off to Vegas on the 1st of Feb for trip number 1 of 3 this year.

I love the thought of going over there and squandering a load of money in their local economy rather than seeing it funding the untermensch luxury.

All written off as a tax expense too LOL.

Class man ! Would highly recommend Hyde in the cosmo, top notch views and you can observe a City and country that rewards effort and enterprise , rather than wanting to rob fifty percent from the working poor to give to the idle!

If you bring back over ten k in cash winnings , split it with another member of the party you are traveling with , cuts down on the form filling !

I would like less immigration(some is fine), a Promotion of Irish culture above all others, a hard line attitude to crime, less focus on peoples sexuality or race and a guaranteed protection on free speech so who do I vote for?

You’re Chinese are you not? So I take it the ‘some immigration is fine’ includes your own family?

I would say hundreds of thousands if I’m being honest. I’ve lived in various different communities and with people of different cultural backgrounds.
There’s a huge normality amongst many towns in Ireland where the disability benefit is being abused. These people don’t ever intend on working and will fight hard to keep it that way.
I’ve seen first hand that many people working in the fast food industry/Kebab Shops claiming welfare while obviously paying zero tax. The latest decision of doubling the dole for u25s was also rather bizarre in my opinion.

lol, No I am not Chinese, I am Irish but do speak Chinese. In fact most of my friends are foreign born anyway and as I said in my post "I would like less immigration(some is fine)" I think 17 to 20 percent of our population being foreign born is a bit too much as it only really started in the late 90s and that is a hell of a large percentage in such a short time. Foreign to me is anyone not ethnically Irish so even people from England I view as foreign just to be clear.

If you go to Las Vegas you'll be observing a city where all of the casinos on the strip are owned either by two individuals - right wing billionaire scumbags Sheldon Adelson and Steve "rapist' Wynn - or by two corporations: MGM and Caesars. Most people in the city make less than $25,000 a year, have no health insurance and are a single paycheck away from being evicted. They have a quality of life that is absolutely pathetic compared to that of the average person in Ireland. And that's the WORKING populace. The unemployed are living in absolute squalor with zero way out for most of them.

I've lived in the US for the past 20 years. You literally couldn't pick a better example of the power of right wing capitalism to put vast wealth into the hands of a tiny number at the expense of everyone else than Las Vegas. Your post is a perfect example of just how gullible a certain kind of person on the right wing of politics is these days.

Wages there don’t seem to be great alright , but you’re way off with 25,000 usd!

    https://livingwage.mit.edu/counties/32003

The unemployed living in squalor there ? What do we give then here , luxury apartments in Dundrum for the workshy. While minimum wage or near it workers commute to Dundrum town centre , likely over an hour each way some of them ? We’ve our own extremes here ! They wouldn’t tolerate that “ inequality “ over there , not a chance !

The Vegas thing was half tongue in cheek, it is a city of extremes. You’d often see the homeless searching through bins on the strip , so they can get the deposit back on cans and bottles. That is a scheme that for environmental reasons, really should be introduced here !

Ah yes and left wing politics is some utopia eh.

Socialist countries like Venezuela are hell on Earth these days,

The old lunatic left rhetoric of everyone being equal is everyone is equally as poor.

The laughable thing about the lunatic left is there refuse to acknowledge socialism has been a massive failure where it has been tried they rattle on about 'their socialism' and Venezuela not being socialist and countries where socialism has been tried and failed utterly miserably (basically everywhere it's tried) they infer that's someone capitalism or some other such deflection.

It's always our socialism is going to be great, assuming their socialism is staffed with nothing but bastions of virtue. It's all a joke really. The assumption that socialism/communism has failed basically forever by the lunatic left but their socialism will be different is nonsense and actually arrogant.

Socialism/Communism has failed people miserably wherever it's tried!.

Socialism/Communism has killed tens of thousands of times more people than any right wing ideology ever has or ever could.

When people make this point they never mention that inequality in the US is highly regional and it is lowest in parts of the US that are most like Europe Ie. inequality is a product of history and mass immigration, not government policy. 7% of Nevada is undocumented. Lets imagine if 7% of the Irish population was undocumented migrants from developing countries. That would mean 350,0000 people who due to low education or illegal status can only do menial work. We would have vastly more inequality in that case.

And how is the wealth of these billionaires at the expense of anyone?

Its well documented by the work of people such as Joe Stiglitz, etc, that Americas inequality issues are of a direct consequence of government policies, from both republicans and Democrats, over the last few decades, the so called neoliberal era.

Good question, I suspect they are included as some do pay a certain amount of income tax, also economic data is good at estimating these things. Even the drug trade is measured in Irish economic data. Even if they were not measured they would still have a depressing effect on the price of labour and cheap labour is linked to higher inequality.

Just like they ignore the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea name. The Nazis were not socialist. They jailed or killed actual socialists.

the career dolers , 4eva homers, receive way too much airtime and sympathy from the rte cesspit than they should. They managed to finish off a Labour Party , for simply speaking the truth. The worlds busiest dominoes is in west Dublin , ironically the same place at the centre of the water charge protests. Anybody else see the irony in that ?!
