Seems like a bit of a bargain. Even though I had the original Nest Hub and gave that to the sister after getting the Max, I've ordered this, just to have a look. Maybe it'll find a home in the kitchen or bedroom.

Typical bloody bargains. Don't need it but got it anyway.

Side by side comparison with the Hub Max. The Smart Clock doesn't have that blue hue in reality.

I'd recomend you ring and reserve it as they often don't have a lot of stock, you can always change your mind when you get there (is a bit like Argos)

Hi, anybody know where i can get a hub for the nest thermostat. We moved house back in July and I brought the actual thermostat unit with me but didn't have time to get someone out to disconnect the hub from the boiler. I also thought it would be handy to pick one up. They are not available to buy separately, only conne in the box with the thermostat, even though they are not specific to that thermostat and can work with all. Ive been on and on and on to nest but they won't give or sell me a new hub unless i can prove that the other hub is broken. Unfortunately ther people who bought our house have removed and binned the old hub and that's not good enough for nest. They say I have to pay €250 for a new thermostat and hub.

Just wondering if anyone else had come across this and if you know where i can pick up a hub on its own. Can't find any on adverts or donedeal or ebay.

Try contacting Nest customer service. The hub is called a Heatlink

Tado vertical radiator valves at an all time low on Amazon £32 each! Limited to 4 per customer. Grab them while you can as can't see this deal lasting too long!

If you go tado I guess you need to stick with them?

Yes, I've had it for a while now and find it very good but the valves were too expensive up to now.

Nest wont sell the heatlink. It means stolen Nests have no value. Youll see quite a few Nest stats sans heatlink box for sale on the for sale ad sites.

Seem to be rebadged Tuya Chinese TRVs running with a hub and the smart life app. I have a few cheap aliexpress wifi sockets running off the same app. They work grand with google home but very doubtful support and features would match Tado when it comes to heating.

Youll need the stat and bridge at least to call the boiler and connect TRVs to d'internet. You can get away with just the bridge, this would only apply if you live in a community heating scheme where a central boiler constantly circulated HW.

I can't see the bridge, or is that part of the starter kit?

Yes. Stat on its own is available if you have 2 zones.
The little white stick next the stat is the bridge.

Interesting. I got a tuya smart bulb and was impressed with how well it worked. Wonder what the whole heating kit is like.

Im interested myself. House has circa 30 radiators so rolling out Tado would not be cheap.....trying to find the hub is the fun part

I'd imagine the milano hub would work if the milano TRVs are just clones, but then almost any zigbee or smart hub should in theory 'see' the TRVs, if they're compliant to the lo energy wireless standard used in these devices. Note: if ordering the Chinese ones, there are 4 versions of the TRV.
    1. Standalone programmable,
    2. Bluetooth direct to phone, and
    3. hub or gateway connected using either RF ( Z wave?) or
    4. Zigbee protocol.
If you already have a hue bridge or smartthings smart hub, it uses zigbee, 2.4 Ghz. The MILANO version of these trvs (if they are indeed the same device as Tuya) uses the 868mhz carrier, but its not clear if this is Z wave or 6LoWPAN, but if you already have a hub or bridge, you could buy one and try. Alternatively, there are generic RF or Zigbee hub/bridges out there on the aliexpress/alibaba sites. Fyi, tado bridge uses the sub Ghz 868mhz carrier in Europe, using the 6LoWPAN protocol, which is not the same as Z wave. You should use the chat link on that TUYA site to enquire about a suitable bridge. Zigbee is more prone to interference, but the TRV batteries will last a lot longer, as Zigbee has smarter sleep modes fir devices. The RF carrier of 868mhz as used in Tado, (6LoWPAN) and the MILANO version of these Chinese TRVs ( z wave?) Have twice the range, but will most likely use more batteries, a bit of a pain if you have 30 rads.
