Wasn't there something posted not too long ago in the thread about numbers being reused for some reason, which is causing issues for some?

just had a quick look back through the thread and couldn't find that, but it would explain what's happened, i.e. my number was re-used for a new card for someone else.

i haven't used a public charging point in quite some time, so maybe they thought i wasn't using the public chargers at all anymore and re-issued my number to a new customer...

anyway, once i hear back from them i'll post again to let you know what the root of it was.

If there is an SCP near you you should plug in and start a charge using your card and see if it appears on your account afterwards.

Just let it charge for a few minutes and disconnect again. It will be free since its an SCP but at least you'll see if your card is registered properly.... maybe you mistyped the number or something?

as ecars suspended my account (which i verified by trying to log in), i won't be able to see any activity for now :(

but when on the phone earlier i read out the number on the card to the ecars agent, and he verified it was the correct number...

I was charging at a Circle K today and monitoring the charge duration on the ecars web site from my phone as it was raining.
When the timer got to 44:40 I swiped on the page and the car stopped charging almost immediately.

However when I checked my charge history it said I had charged for 46:08 and hit me with a €5 overcharge.

Has anybody else experienced this problem, I did report it to eCars but the young man on the phone was not too
    hopeful for me?

    Thanks in advance.

Not too hopeful, I’d be telling them about their issue and letting them know it will be a chargeback unless they refund and fix their systems. It’s a fiver but it’s yours, 45mins should be 45 mins, their system is incorrect.

I just saw you were watching it on the app so there should of been no discrepancies

Good to know about the lengthy delay. Back during my continental trip in Summer 2018 I used the Fortum chargers and it took about 10 seconds from hitting the stop on the app before the charger actually stopped. So knowing above the 20 sec discrepency there is no reason to really wait until 44:50 before hitting the stop. I will make sure to stop at least one minute before the time.

You might not get the final 0.75 kWh during the last minute if your car still charges at 45 kW at that stage. L40 at the best charges at 10-20 kW in 45 minute mark so that last minute is a very small fraction of a kWh.

Just checked and they have refunded the overcharge, fair play, prompt action.

Are they maybe counting from when you unhook the charging cable head from the charge point rather than from starting the actual charge or something equally silly?

Perhaps, I just don't know, I'm gonna quit at 43 minutes in future to be sure.

I got charged money for using fast ac at a fast charge point. Is that right?

It’s a rapid charger, so yes.

    What car do you have?
If it’s something like a leaf or an Ioniq you should be using SCP’s not FCP’s to charge on AC.

There's no way they can measure this, unlikely they have a sensor for it.

Was that before fees came into existence.

Any port on a rapid charger is billable now.

Is that in purpose though? AFAIK all fcp are supposed to be billable now. On the new site nenagh shows up at a 33c per kWh cost

Yes the timer in the app is not accurate.
Note the starting time and the time on the phone. Here is after about 15 minutes

and here is after about 40 mins

Also my car's battery just expanded over 100kWh :)

SOC incorrect? Or the kWh taken.

SOC. The correct value was 73%.

Second option would be better - it's so annoying when service providers keep adding new apps instead of performing proper product management. My Foscam CCTV camera is like this (with regional differences too) and Nissan with their carwings, connect, connect ev et al.

You can just add the website to your Home Screen and it's the same thing.

    Use the website?

On a slow charger now and the machine is showing 2 minutes more than the timer on the website. For a system that applies a penalty for overstay, the timers should be exactly the same.

I know there's no charge for slow chargers, but there will be.

Agree 100% here, you should tie the overstay to the timer on the display screen

I've seen this too, the AC is not recording kWh delivered on some of the older units so it is free - as 0.0kWh was delivered according to the charger.

So ecars still don't have the app out, 3 weeks after the charging system went live. No date being given.

The timers aren't synched up which will lead to loads of people having to call in about unfair overstay charges. This will in turn add to the wait times for remote starts/stops.

Who would ever have predicted that eCars would make a balls of things? They're normally so smooth and efficient?

Just to add insult to injury..
I'm at one of the brand new chargers installed about a month ago. It replaced an old unit which only had one side working for over 2 years. Now the new charger hasn't worked properly since it was installed... same side not working.

    You couldn't make this up.
