The one is beshoffs is nearly 100% what i would look for except a year newer , right colour, spec ,X drive and the rear media package the only things i would like.

should be able to get a 2018 730d in new year close to 50k surely with this spec.

Voodoomelons example is a good example of whats out there.
Are you currently in a golf R? I remember you were on the golf thread before?
Looking to move in a different direction with a 7? What about a 640d gran coupe?

I'm in touch with a UK dealer re 530e bmw.
It's a late 18 msport plus with 20 inch wheels.
    I queried whether it's 46 or 49g co2 and he has come back insisting it 40g co2.
Anyone know if this could be correct?

Is it not whatever is on the v5 document?
I thought the 20” wheels brought co2 up a bit.
If he inputs the car into the BMW database to bring up the exact spec, It will tell for sure

Yep it is whatever is on v5 but he is telling me it's 40. DVLA mot history site tells me it's 49 so I don't know what he is on about.

I think with the 20” wheel 49g sounds right. Possibly he misread it.
Assume it’s 49 to be safe. M sport plus pack I assume? Any other extras?
Best of luck. I don’t think they do haggling much in U.K.!

Just reversing cam on top of the plus pack.
Its untaxed since October so not exactly flying out of the place so surely open to some movement.

All indications are that they won't haggle, they'll reduce sticker price when they're good and ready.
Best of luck with it, fantastic machine

Tax in the UK expires on sale. You'll not be able to buy a car there with tax on it.

Ya but that is what I mean. It's with dealer since October so it's not like he has people begging him for it.

Dealers often have stuff for a few months.... Waiting is a key part of selling cars. Covered in their mark up.

You won't be able to haggle over there like you can here (despite the impression you may get from watching Wheeler Dealer).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,835 ✭✭✭carsfan2

Best of luck Mick. Hope it works out.

I'd ask the dealer to send on a screen shot of the V5 info page.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,922 ✭✭✭✭mickdw

It's a main dealer. He already sent a partial screen shot from bmw system showing spec options.
I will get him to send screen shot of the emissions details.

This car caught my eye while browsing carzone. For a main BMW dealer, is it priced ok in yere view?
The spec especially the adaptive suspension and sunroof is what attracts me and the lowish mileage.
My own car is 2017 520 m sport tourer with all the same packs and 55k km.
I probably will hold on to my own but what would be reasonable cost to change?

Just a guess, and you might come back to me on this if you do enquire, but I bet they want 12 grand to change.

I reckon you’d be looking in or around 20k to change to it. There are cars like your own available for around the 35k mark, add in profit on prep and you’re there or there abouts.

BMW dealers aren’t known for their generosity so I fear Gustavo is probably closer to the mark than Johnny.
Had hoped something about 10k which would tempt me. Very happy with what I have but the full spec on the 530 and the x drive is what attracts me.

In fairness, you're not going to trade a 171 for another 171 and drop the price of a 141 to do it.....i probably underestimated the cost to change alright could be close to 20k

Think this would be nicer but there's only one picture https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/huge-spec-2018-bmw-530d-m-sport-plus-m-performance/23658962
    Spotted it this morning

I think the asking is on the high side but they tend to sit on them in the hope of getting close to it. It’s going to be a certain customer will look for one over a 520d and they most likely will be prepared to pay the extra.

Worth trying to sell your own privately? I know it’s not straightforward with it’s value but a done deal advert is cheap. Did it lately for a much cheaper car from a BMW dealer and cut the cost to change by north of 9k.

You sold your own privately and then bought from main dealer?
I agree it’s pricey especially if you compare to the 2018 drunk monkey spotted, that’s why I thought there might be a deal to be done if things are quieter this time of year.

Standard headlights and bluestone metallic, probably the worst colour available for the G30.

I won't pass judgement until I see more pictures, colour seems ok, would much prefer it to white/black.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,611 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

Expect to pay a hefty cost to change with a main dealer even if trading sideways. You know how these dealers operate, you will be told their 530d is rarer, has more extras and is more sought after than a 520d. If you were trading a 530d they will tell you it's not worth much more than a 520d because most buyers are happy with the 520d and won't pay much more for a 530d . Your also paying a premium in that cost to change price for that 2 year BMW AUC warranty.

Pretty much. Got a cost to change, baulked and forgot about it. I did get lucky in that I knew someone potentially looking for something like what I had in fairness so worked on a straight sale. But a car like yours would find a buyer being a touring too. Nothing to lose.

I completely agree with your points Bazz and expect to hear all you say if I do enquire. I’ve heard it all before unfortunately.
I’m not really looking to change but always seeing what’s for sale and this caught my eye as it’s the spec I would want. I don’t mind paying a little more for the BMW warranty as I’ve found in the past they do look after things and these are expensive to keep right.

I don’t have the time or inclination to put the car up for sale privately at the moment, maybe in the spring I might.
To be honest the wife’s car was on the agenda to be changed next and it wouldn’t be appreciated or approved of if I was actively trying to sell mine and spend more to get into a car of the same year. My wife doesn’t appreciate differences between one 5 series to another and a bigger engine, adaptive suspension etc. is not on her radar. She’s probably right to be fair...

It's not just a BMW thing though. Do you think a Mercedes or Audi dealer would be any more generous?
