...I was very skeptical about a robot hoover until we got our robovac....couldn't live without it now...keeps the house tidy during the week and we do 1 quick traditional hoover on a sunday.

Same... except we only use our dyson every couple of months now. We have a Neato D6, which does a great hob of cleaning the apartment while we're at work.

    chat thread is here

Not a mod, never claimed to be one

Didn't realize the chat thread was to discuss the pro/cons of every product because people are too lazy to do some research. You have had multiple people post, including myself, on why they use it

How many posts do you want on the same subject?

As I posted, a full thread full of information on the automation forum. It might help you "get it"

They used to refund the difference all the time but I don't think they do any more, no harm trying though

Yeah no luck there, they said on chat to return or reject the package delivery for a refund and purchase the item at the lower price

I had a similar experience with a robovac I bought. There was a decent discount given the day after I bought it. Amazon said the discount was given by the manufacturer and they wouldn't match it. Said I'd have to cancel and return the item.

I got Anker Soundcore Life Q20 Bluetooth Headphones, Active Noise Cancellation, 30 Hours Playtime, Hi-Res Audio, Intense Bass, Wireless Over-Ear Headphones
(sorry new user can't post the link yet)
They are really good headphones, comfortable, sound great and £51.99, but I think I got them cheaper.

Anyone spot any decent deals for cordless vacuums?

This one looks quite good and I'm on the verge of buying it. Although apparently it's slightly heavier and with less dust capacity than a similar dyson:

Bought this myself but for €299 on Littlewoods. Was recommended by a couple of friends who had purchased it previoulsy.

    Stupid Nintendo stuff.

It's taken this many years to get a DSXL to go sub 100 pounds

Nintendo like Apple don't discount their stuff often

I bought the Sony's a few months ago for use in an office. The noise cancelling in that environment is pretty much nigh on useless. However the sound quality for what is essentially a budget pair of headphones from a major manufacturer is excellent. Battery life is also superb and they are a comfy set to use. I'm delighted with them as noise cancellation wasn't the reason for buying them, good sound quality and battery life was.

Don't get it myself, seems like a load of reinventing the wheel. Mixed with laziness.

Hardly an issue of laziness. You might have no need for one but millions of others do. In my home our toddler loved hearing Google make animal noises when she was small. It was great to play a lullaby at night if it was hard to get her to sleep. Combined with a Spotify account they are a great way to get a music speaker into somewhere that's not the living room. Add in smart displays, light bulbs, a Chromecast etc and they are really brilliant little things..... if you have a use for them.

my little fella loves asking the smart speaker to answer hard maths questions for him.

Even asking Google a simple question is Dunnes, Tesco etc still open often comes in handy as you are heading out the door.

FYI these are in PC Currys for €99.99 - the amazon deal works out to be €90.86 (perhaps plus postage). I'm going to head up there as I want to try them out first :)

What do people use the Echo dot for ? Smart home stuff...

Is there any point in having an echo dot with a Google home (ordered and awaiting delivery of), so know next to nothing about either!

You can just have them in different rooms and instead of saying Hey Google say Alexa when in that room. Need to set up the accessories in both apps too (Google and Alexa)

If you're going to have multiple then it's best to stick with one type. For example, if you have several Google Homes, you can play music on all of them at once, or broadcast from one to the others. You can't do that between a Google Home and an Amazon Echo though.
