No they aren't, as was explained here before that was a mock up picture used by the landlords of the retail park, they also run the one Jysk are in in Naas I believe. Unless theyve made a new announcement which I've not seen.

Well if its westside I can understand that I suppose. Misread the post and thought it was Galway Retail Park

Ya I get ya. TBH dont really get why they call it "Gateway Retail Park."
No context to it ; could be anywhere in the World with that name.
Millars Lane Retail Park or Bothar Stiofain Retail Park might have been better.

Papa Rich, an Italian & a cafe I heard. 3 new eateries. Papa above SuperValu, Italian next to The Arches & cafe as well.

You must have heard incorrectly. Papa Rich is Asian and have been around for years.

Also this thread is not for hearsay, it's for personal observations. Much to prevent miscommunications.

Also Claregalway is county not city.
    This is the city forum.

All this confusion for the lack of a comma in the first post.

City Trib p 15 says that planning application for Lidl Knocknacarra, sent back for more info. This means it will be at least another month before permission could be granted.

The Doctor 365 private walk in GP practice is closing its base in Bellisiomo on the Tuam road and moving to the old Ulster Bank building on the Newcastle road near UCHG.

    This too shall pass.

David Martin Hairdressers in Kingston Hall (next to Capones in Knocknacarra) has closed. They may have been closed a while but only just noticed today and didn't see it previously reported.

It's a bit of a funny spot because I wouldn't say it really has convenient parking. You can always park and Joyces are walk across but it's not handy to just park and run in for something. I've always wondered how much foot traffic the polish shop gets there. I wouldn't imagine too many people stumble into there on a whim. Seems like themselves and the dental place could have nearly swapped places to have the GP and dentist side by side and have the food shops together.

    There’s underground parking there.

37 West has changed ownership. Signs up now for Mocha Beans opening soon. Wonder if they'll keep the Mocha Beans just over the road going too!

Thought they'd have kept the business - presume it's a profitable one?

Mind you, all i've ever eaten from there was the Chicken Melt (takeaway) - 5 euro once Matt's Sandwiches opened.

Pelo bike shop in Liosban closed/empty. Their website is still up so I dunno if they've moved or what.

They announced on their Facebook a few weeks ago. They are permanently closed. Sad as it was the best bike shop on Galway.

It's been like that for around 4 weeks. Looks like it's gone.

Not if they're based in Renmore or Eyre Street. Maybe Salthill's ducks are different.

Closed today and the opening soon sign still on the door, it looks like its still furnished and no sign of any alternations to the fixtures.
Those units have flooded badly in the basements in the past.

Papaz Bistro in Middle St is gone. No signs on the door, but it's been closed fir a few days and now the external signage is removed.

That didnt stay long. A decision to cut their losses I suspect.

I found the food lovely but it was always pretty much empty when I went for lunch.

Also, the starting price for any sandwich was E9. While it was a BIG sandwich when it arrived on the table, if you were casually passing and took a look at the menu outside there is a good chance you would walk on

Appears to be a wine shop opening on Eglinton St where the Eglinton Pharmacy was, there was a notice on the shop window, The Wine Buff.

Corner Cafe at St Francis Street has been gutted. Anyone know when it closed?
    Another café opened there now
    The Galway Roast
The Galway Roast began life as a café in Tuam, County Galway in 2008 and today has grown into a unique company that roasts its very own coffee beans to ensure customers receive the freshest and most distinctive tasting coffee possible.

The sign says "sorry we are closed" not "opening soon". (pic attached.)
