    If I am to purchase a deactivated firearm do I get a "permit" before or after I get it.

    Before i'd imagine.

    It's only a letter of authorisation, not an actual license as you know, but it still grants you permission to have it so it stands to reason you'd get it before getting the deact.

    Open to correction.

    What is the situation with blankfirers ? Uberti do a lovely blankfiring Colt peacemaker, i'd buy one if there was not a big problem legally.

    Blank firers are the same as de-acts. Only require authorisation in the form of a letter from your Super.

    Just a mindful note for both categories. They are classed as "live firearms" if brandished or taken out in public. Goes without saying really, but just an FYI.

    That’s pretty much the same as air soft guns. If you use a dud firearm to threaten someone or cause fear as if it was a real one the powers that be will be very annoyed and you’re likely to suffer the consequences.

    Check the EU legislation on that one folks...That might have changed.It certainly has put a kibosh on the armourers to the film and thatre,and some re enactors.You cant convert any former full auto stuff to blank firing anymore under the directive,and current blank firing prop guns might be suss on this too.
