Don’t agree with Barnes call there. He broke the tackle, try should have stood.

    Agree, another home town decision.

Don't think he was held there

True, another big decision goes Japan's way, if that happened at the other end you can be sure Barnes Would gave given a try.

South Africa are they're own worst enemy here. Should be another 2 tries up by now.

How many penalties should they have conceded for being offside though. I think they deserve to be slightly more up than they are but not 3 tries worth.

    The fix is in lads.

Japan are going to be engineered winners today.

Against Ireland I had the blinkers on but when you think of the marginal calls Japan really have had a lot of decisions to their benefit.

Why not use TMO in that situation?

Never held there. Refereeing has become one sided in Japan's favor towards the end of that half.

Considering SA should have had player sent off I'd say the decisions have evened out in that half.

    That was a try.

To me it seemed his knee was touching the ground while his ankle was still held

Edit : just checked. Definitely held

If that were true were aren't SA being pegged for being consistently offside in kickable positions.

That fact he didn't even go to TMO for a look?

    Incredible really.

I remember when some on here were laughing at me for suggesting Japan would win the RWC. Doesn't sound so funny now!

If you look at the replay his elbow and then shoulder hit the ground on the way down so it's a yellow.

Offsides, crooked line out throws, forward passes, good try’s being disallowed. The officiating has tainted this tournament imo. I’m surprised there hasn’t been more talk about it. Barnes should have gone to TMO for the yellow because that was probably red.

S Africa look very ordinary yet have still beaten the All Blacks on their own patch this last year. We blew our chance this year.

The backline play from Japan is superb, great offloading. They might not win but it is great to watch. A few of their forwards look out on their feet already. S Africa will probably pull away. Nothing to stop Wales from getting to a final.

Only because he went to protect himself. His legs were at 45degrees. If that went to TMO I think he gets red.

People said that about Ireland at HT against Japan.

SA will do well to win this.

No way. Nz or England will destroy them

de Allende having a good game, except for losing the ball in the tackle on 22minutes. Solid in defence, 1 or 2 turnovers and nearly had the try there at the end of the half.

If they add some other facet to their game in 2nd half they might win.

Ya once a knee goes to the ground while you are held you have to release, get to your feet and regather.
A lot more of these incidents have gone unpunished thus far. Referees are not spotting it.

Barnes is fairly lenient to Japan with forward passes and throws into the lineout look crooked.

    Good contest.

Yes, head and shoulder hits the deck pretty simultaneously, that goes upstairs it’s hard to see him only getting a yellow

I love when Rte Player freezes and I have to watch a few extra ads when I refresh to get it working again, love it.

Japan play a great game but it’s full of risks. If they don’t give away a soft score or two, they could well run SA off their feet. Some of those big lads were looking a bit knackered after 30.

Japan at 4-1 to win - got to be worth a punt with the decisions they're getting
