    First rider just started.

    Edit: slight change to schedule - riders are released every 60 seconds, not 90 as planned.

    Socks can't go higher than halfway between your ankle and your knee. Basically to prevent aero kit getting more and more involved. Full body skin suits probably weren't far away :) UCI don't like technology and keep things old school. the TT bikes themselves are slower than they can be due to their rules

    Long socks are regarded as an aerodynamic aid, IIRC, smoothing the airflow over the leg

    Cycling hews saying he crashed
    In fact, Campenaerts appears to have crashed. We haven't seen pictures of the incident, but the hole in the shorts of the skinsuit tells it own story. He had a motorbike following him, so perhaps we will see a replay of the incident in due course.

    Would love to know what's been going on in the background between his team and sponsors since he dropped out of TdF and then announced he'd be using a non branded bike.

    Basically the equipment supplied is **** with loads of issues. He rode is old BMC today.
