    Multicamera entry 'Fun,' which marks a reunion for the 'Ugly Betty' co-stars, has received a pilot-production commitment from the network.
    CBS is reteaming with 2 Broke Girls creator Michael Patrick King for a new comedy.

    The network has handed out a sizable pilot-production commitment to multicamera comedy Fun, starring Ugly Betty grads Michael Urie and Becki Newton.

    Fun is a life-long love story between a brother and a sister, who always encourage each other to have fun — no matter what hardship life is currently serving up.     Apple has tapped Winston Duke to lead its basketball drama “Swagger,” from NBA superstar Kevin Durant.

    Duke will star as Ike, a youth basketball coach and former star player. The series will go into production this month.

    “Swagger” is inspired by Durant’s youth basketball experiences, and explores the world of youth basketball, and the players, their families and coaches who walk the fine line between dreams and ambition, and opportunism and corruption.

    Jennifer Garner is now set to headline the upcoming Apple drama series “The Last Thing He Told Me,” Variety has confirmed.

    Garner takes over the role from Julia Roberts, who reportedly pulled out due to a scheduling issue. The series is based on the book of the same name by Laura Dave.

    “The Last Thing He Told Me” follows a woman (Garner) who forms an unexpected relationship with her sixteen-year-old stepdaughter while searching for the truth about why her husband has mysteriously disappeared. The novel was published by Simon & Schuster on May 4.

    Dave is adapting her book for the screen along with her husband, Josh Singer. Both serve as executive producers alongside Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter of Hello Sunshine and Garner.

    Former EastEnders star Don Gilet is swapping Walford for idyllic Saint Marie, as he is named as the new lead detective in BBC's hit show Death in Paradise.

    Known for playing the villainous Lucas Johnson in EastEnders, the British actor will play Detective Inspector Mervin Wilson, which he said is like being given an "incredibly precious jewel".

    Death in Paradise was the second most watched drama in 2023, with 8.3 million viewers.

    Gilet will make his debut in this year's Christmas special.

    Anna Maxwell Martin has joined the cast of For All Mankind's upcoming spin-off series, Star City.

    Star City, which was announced last year, will return to the beginning of For All Mankind’s alternative timeline, in which the Soviets are the first to reach the moon.

    The synopsis continues: "But this time, we explore the story from behind the Iron Curtain, showing the lives of the cosmonauts, the engineers, and the intelligence officers embedded among them in the Soviet space program, and the risks they all took to propel humanity forward."

    She star joins previously announced cast member Rhys Ifans who is playing the Chief Designer, described as "the driving force behind the Soviet Space program."
