I got through on both Tax and Audit panels. Delighted. Congrats to everyone who did and commiserations to those who didn't. There will always be another competition.

Congratulations! I am on both panels also but was wondering what happens next. Not sure whether to mention it in work yet or wait until I (hopefully) get called.

I think there is an existing panel so we could all be waiting a while. Anyone with any idea how big these panels are?

Last year's panel expires today, from memory 57 were panelled for Audit panel and 35 for policy.

And how many were placed? Or is that saying all were placed but it took them a year?

I'm not very up on the civil service inner workings!

Not 100%!! I know the Audit panel had maybe 25+ placed and the Policy panel was nearly exhausted.

    All depends where you want.

You may as well be 500th if you want, say, Dundalk and there are 1 ahead of you.

Equally it is better to be 30th overall and want Dundalf if no one else ahead of you does want that location.

I'm assuming that the vast majority of the jobs will be as usual in Dublin. Is RLS (and the Policy jobs) still wholly Dublin based or has it been spread out in the restructure?

Spread out but mainly Dublin...at present.

    Hi

Does anyone have any updates or did anyone contact the recruitment section to see how this panel develops?

  • Registered Users Posts: 414 ✭✭Emma2019

I was wondering are you actually allowed to just call them periodically and be like "what number are you on now?"

Hi Emma, you can. It has been difficult to get responses at times, but you can certainly try!

I emailed to get my regional panel placings a fortnight ago and got zero response

    Hi

I have sent in a couple of enquiries about placings and received nothing back either.

Also went for this and on both panels. Put down regional location so unsure if there is any chance of hearing anything.

Same here got through on both panels but nada since, emailed the panel placings a number of times and am not even sure if that is the correct address, to make it worse can't even remember if it was two or three counties. I think it was three, very frustrating as panel only last a year and five weeks of that gone. Think I am too far down the list on both. Early 20's but only have regional locations down. But on the plus side we made the panel, first time on AP panel.

This thread is very quite, but just wanted to let ye know, I followed up on placings by county and was given them over the phone. Now wondering was there much movement on the limerick panel last year.

Was given the placing for three counties, in top 6 for all on both panels but tax legislation not applicable in all counties.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11 JF1970

When you say top 6 is that on the national or by county?

Who do you ring to get any info? I am low teens for both on national panel, but picked 3 regional counties.

Also do you know which counties tax legislation is applicable

    Hi

Does anyone know if anybody has been offered a position from the panel created at the end of July 2019?

Does the panel last one year or two? I don't remember seeing it noted specifically anywhere but I may have just missed it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11 JF1970

I believe it lasts 1 year.

  • Registered Users Posts: 78 ✭✭BMHOPE

I was top 6 in county but not country, tax specialist roles I am not sure but think maybe dublin and Limerick but could be Tipperary depending on brexit. Did they email the placing as I got them the other day.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11 JF1970

I was looking at the Revenue annual report. I think they recruited around 35 AP in 2018. I assume the vast majority were Dublin. I suppose Limerick must be one of the next largest areas.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11 JF1970

Any one hear of any movement on the panel?

  • Registered Users Posts: 78 ✭✭BMHOPE

Not a word, must email panel placings again to see if there is any movement 4 months in. If nothing else it might remind them of this panel.

Did that specify if they were all from an external panel or does that 35 include internal and interdepartmental appointments aswell??

  • Registered Users Posts: 11 JF1970

No there was no split between internal and Open assume the number includes both.

Will also contact panel placing again and see if anything happening. Of the 3 location I choose none are Dublin so not very hopeful

  • Registered Users Posts: 377 ✭✭ThumbTaxed

Surely this panel is dead now given more than 1 year has passed and there is a 2019 panel (which is surprising quiet)

It is the 2019 panel that we are talking about, the other expired in July but as there was a cross over between panels and this thread is quite we continued it.

I emailed panel placings but no answer back, it usually takes a month.
