    Thanks LastStop ,
Next class most likely at least 4 weeks from 6th August then unless they run more than one class at a time .
So guessing at least 2 weeks till anyone gets notice .
    Thanks for that .

They have a new group start every Monday for a few weeks in a row before. depends on how efficient HR are and if they have trainers available.

I see they are having a female driver recruitment open day.

After all their huffing and puffing about equality and inclusiveness, that's a bit of a contradiction.

I mentioned this and was literally shot down....

    Equality me hoole

    Equality me hoole

    All too common.

Looking forward to the HSE male nurse open day what with 92% of nurses being female......?

Corporate fluff and faux equality. Like in my old place there were cakes and balloons and a huge fuss made about international women's day. Tumbleweed for men's day. The smart women in the building saw it for what it was; condescending.

So. Whats stopping a male from attending these training days? Surly anyone can drop along?

I understand that they have silly gender quotas which discriminate against young men, but that should not stop a guy from getting a go around the yard in a bus???..

Because they are only for women.....

Some bloke should turn up and when they are told it's only for female candidates they can go into a rage and give it the full..... Did you just ASSUME my gender.

Going out on a limb here but I'm guessing the majority of females have little interest in driving a bus? Like the majority of males have no interest in primary school teaching or kindergarten?
Corporate PC box ticking exercise. Either have open days for all or don't bother. Tbh I think the biggest barrier is the need to have a bus driving licence.

You only need a learners permit to apply ;)

You only need a learners permit to apply ;)

Applicants must have the following criteria:

    B Licence Applicants

A valid driving licence Category B (for a minimum of 2 years) with no endorsements
A valid D licence Learner Permit
A valid CPC Bus Case Study sheet (Please note, the CPC bus case study is only valid for a period of 2 years from its date of issue.)

I know what's needed, I was simply telling the other poster that a (full) bus licence was not needed. Not sure how it's a barrier either, considering the job entails driving a bus

Welcome any advice on whether taking a few lessons before starting the training with Dublin Bus would be a good or bad idea ?

Most places seem to only give lessons on Manual Transmission Buses and I believe DB use only automatic.

    Thanks.
