Out of interest - never seen a restricted licence. Are there any distinguishing features/markings vs non restricted? Does it specify additional specifics regarding ammo e.g. slug cartridges?

Just has "Restricted liscense" printed on the front.

The fact that it states ‘Restricted’ is enough to cover purchase restricted ammo for that firearm? (e.g shotgun slugs)

If the restricted license if for a shotgun, yes.
