Is that land in the background? These updates look very prepackaged. Probably being released by St Gretas PR people.

I'm sorry that our species has been so narrow minded and obstinate about climate change. Thank you for what you are doing Greta.

Looking at his bio it's one of those accounts you hope to death is a parody, but probably isn't.

Some of the comments are loltastic

    Wow!
    Interesting. Sounds great.

By the way: which flight from Europe to the USA got cancelled because you decided to go by boat instead of taking a aeroplane?
    Just curious.

Fantastic news. Greta has diverted from her transatlantic voyage and is now actively fighting the Amazon fires. Reports say that a tear from a child is more effective at quenching the flames than thousands of gallons of water.

Daniel Hooper is living the dream. Works for the forestry and stays in a hippie commune in Wales, has 4 children (that always puts the limits on you) and the wife has left him. The trustifarians that he hung out with him are probably getting by on the income from trust fund and you will more likely find them in coffee shops or employed in Dads business somewhere.

Net Zero means we are paying for the destruction of our economy and society in pursuit of an unachievable and pointless policy.

Unclean at Any Speed - Electric cars don’t solve the automobile’s environmental problems
    Ozzie Zehner
Upon closer consideration, moving from petroleum-fueled vehicles to electric cars begins to look more and more like shifting from one brand of cigarettes to another. We wouldn’t expect doctors to endorse such a thing. Should environmentally minded people really revere electric cars? Perhaps we should look beyond the shiny gadgets now being offered and revisit some less sexy but potent options—smog reduction, bike lanes, energy taxes, and land-use changes to start. Let’s not be seduced by high-tech illusions.

It's an article about the US. a lot of that doesn't really apply elsewhere. It's pretty disappointing scribbling TBH, a veritable kitchen sink approach and one of those earnest 500 word articles vaguely waving at solutions without the slightest clue of how they might work in real life. Can't say I'd be rushing out to buy his book based on that stuff!

Hopefully the Us refuse entry and they are forced to turn around and sail home

Yeah she’s just so awful doing this trip trying to highlight a massive issue facing humanity

Sailing a multimillion dollar boat across the Atlantic to grandstand on an issue while the sailers will have to fly back resulting in a bigger carbon footprint than if she and her father just flew to New York. So why couldn't she just fly or Skype to highlight this "massive issue"?

Nearly there now, and fair winds behind them for the last bit.
I suppose there will be a flotilla of US yachts and dinghies coming out to meet them for the final leg of the journey into New York.

While everyones "favourite" self-loading-cargo is in the US she might start with this and see how she gets on :

"In 2017, the US military bought about 269,230 barrels of oil a day and emitted more than 25,000 kilotonnes of carbon dioxide by burning those fuels.
The US Air Force purchased US$4.9 billion worth of fuel, and the navy US$2.8 billion, followed by the army at US$947m and the Marines at US$36m."

Most young adults in Sweden do not go around dressed as Pippi Långstrump. Gretas outward presentation is to make her look younger than she is, the optics presented are specifically to manipulate you and others.

Long ago when you were put to bed you may have had the experience of being frightened of monsters under the bed when the light was turned off, your mother likely assured you there were no monsters and you got over it and don;t think twice about it. That is normal parenting. Greta on is impaired by Aspergers Syndrome and has been convinced by the adults around her that the world is going to end. Would you as a parent encourage this behaviour in your offspring? and especially knowing that they have been diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome and are attending a special school for people with this condition and presumably knowing more about the condition that the average person on the street would you let them continue this line of thinking? There is something more at play and it is not Greta Thunbergs personal development towards a mature adult.

It's money. It's all about money. It makes the world go round. Someone is profiting from her. They are pimping her out to be blunt.

Meanwhile back in Ireland - the government are going to tax all and sundry for the old sin of 'carbon'!

And this is what it boils down to lads
    ...

"How much money could a higher carbon tax take in?"

    https://www.thejournal.ie/carbon-tax-budget-2020-4778032-Aug2019/?amp=1

First reckoning it would raise €210 million in Exchequer funding. But not even a dickie bird about said taxes being anything other than yet another way to extract tax from those already paying it ...

Yup we sure are putting a sock in the face of carbon ....

MIT Professor Emeritus of Meteorology Richard Lindzen talks about the inextricably intertwined link between the body politic and climate scientists with respect to promoting the climate alarmist narrative, arguing “I don’t think any field survives this degree of corruption without losing if nothing else its self-respect,”

this issue has been front and centre of global media pretty consistently for at least the last 30 years. i was taught it in school 20 years ago. we dont need Greta to highlight anything, thanks.
