This thread about AB is pretty crazy, even for him

Oh this is so much better than him fighting Burfict in camp.

Can't f*cking wait for Hard Knocks

As a Steelers fan I was really annoyed at the time but now I am genuinely thrilled that idiot was traded away. He has completely lost it! He will still probably go for 1000 yards and 10-12 TD’s this year but you’d have to wonder if it’s worth it for all the distraction he brings.

I really hope AB is just doing this for the HBO ratings, otherwise the man is an imbecile!

Actually I watched the first episode of Hard Knocks last night and he came across really well (translation: it was boring). I suppose it's about to get a lot more entertaining.

Frostbitegate and Helmetgate have the potential to make some of the most entertaining TV you will ever see, hopefully it's just the start and things have gone totally bananas with Antonio by Episode 5

What was I thinking that I was more interested in the Skins or the Giants being selected for Hard Knocks this year

I see that Antonio brown has filed a complaint against the NFL and its helmet policy. I mean if it's good enough for Brady and Rodgers and they are happy with that he should cop on and just wear the new helmet.

Jumping on the AB ordeal again, he's a disgrace. He was so professional for years and now all of a sudden he's up his own bum and acting like a child. He's the Raiders problem now, and I feel for their fan base. Hard to believe I once considered him my favorite player in the league. Major Boo-Urns.

Just one more point on the AB carry on. It does show the difference in how the steelers and raiders handle situations like this. Clearly there was more going on behind the scenes in Pittsburgh last season but we didn't hear much about it. My point is that the steelers run a tight ship whereas the raiders don't or not as tight a ship as they should.

As a Steelers fan, it felt like a constant murmur between Bell, Brown, Ben and Tomlin. Tomlin usually getting the blame for letting Bell and Brown go wild.

Tomlin would now be getting the blame for not enforcing discipline on the helmet and footwear thing.

Steelers, Patriots, Seahawks, Saints, Packers and the Colts are teams you rarely hear anything out of. Those teams spend a lot of time in the playoffs.

There is no doubting that AB is an unbelievably talented player but Christ does he come across badly as a person(I know that has nothing to do with football talent) and of all the reasons to retire, doing it over not being allowed to wear a helmet that both the NFL and NFLPA have deemed unsafe and no player this season is allowed wear would be a stupid one.

The Ravens are actually going to get a pick for that backup kicker from Norway. Either the Jets or Bears will be desperate enough to offer a pick to make sure they get him. :D

I wouldn't be opposed to offering that pick the Eagles gave us for Howard if the 2 kickers we have aren't convincing and Vedvik continues to do well in pre-season.

I not sure about the Seahawks, legion of boom and lynch both seemed outspoken

Bit of a chicken or egg situation there. I'd contend that a lot of those teams have plenty of drama but it is their cotinued success that allows it to be realtively ignored compared to teams with regular losing records.

Out of that list pf team in just last season you had a team who's leader of their defence gave the finger to their sideline while he was getting carted off, a star RB sit out for a full season, a #1 WR getting banned for PEDs and their new WR getting suspended indefinitely, and a continuing feud between QB and HC that ended up with the HC getting sacked.

    5th round pick for Vedvik.

Decent deal as he can kick and punt. Two needs filled.

I always found it a bit odd that more teams don't have a kicker/punter. Seems like a logical way to save a roster space and you would have to think there is reasonable overlap in the skills.

If one gets injured in game aren't you screwed?

Yeah, that's probably it. For a nation with such great athletes, the ability to kick a ball seems to be one talent a lot of them can't master.

I mean you can still have back ups the same as now.

While not a preference I imagine most teams would cope well with both their first choice kicker and punter out.

Or the (in)ability to pick up a bobbling/kicked ball is astounding too!

    Have you ever tried it?

I guess. Doesn't seem to happen that often though and you would think having someone who could just cover the position would be enough. I guess the NFL as a general rule doesn't lend itself well to players having any incentive to really spend time training up those skills as a backup.

I mean, I get that they are very different skills - but they are also the kind of skills that someone can master both of.
Or the (in)ability to pick up a bobbling/kicked ball is astounding too!

Given the possession nature of the game, no one should ever really try to pick up a bobbling ball. They should just fall on it - but the inevitable pile on isn't that appealing.

I see S'ua Cravens has come forward and backed Trent Williams, claiming that he too has had his medical information withheld by the Redskins and his injuries were mishandled.

Makes you think about the RGIII injury too and how he has turned out.

nice bit of business for Baltimore

They were hoping to trade him last preseason but he went partying and not being local ended up lost in the wrong part of Baltimore. He got a serious beating on the streets and was hospitalised

Spent 2018 on the non football injury / reserve list

Dak Prescott turned down a contract offer from the cowboys which would have payed him $30 million a year. According to Jane slater of NFL network he's looking for closer to $40 million. So Zeke is sitting in Cabo looking for a new deal and dak has turned down a contract that would have made him the fifth highest paid QB in the league. I personally don't think he is a top5 QB but he and his agent clearly think he's worth more than $30 million a year.
