Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

There is potentially two more sets of call between now and the end of August. So dependant on what you mean by ‘exhausted by August’.....exhausted as in receiving the call or exhausted by having started in GV. I think there is a high chance 1710 will all have received offers by the end of August with starting dates of sept/Oct

Exhausted as in all candidates either offered employment, unsuccessful at all PSNI managed stages or voluntarily withdrawn.

    Garnerville is at capacity.

The email received by all 1810 candidates and then to myself via queries stated that offers of appointments will be made to 1810 candidates as they become appointable from August 2019.

Which means in august 2019 you will have both 1710 candidates and 1810 candidates appointable.

Not saying 18q0 candidates will have an august start, offers of appointments made for September or October.

    238 remaining candidates. Let's assume a 25% failure rate

    That's 178 candidates remaining.

Maximum of say 60 per intake

    August start: 60
    Sept start: 60
    October start: 60

    180.

But 1810 candidates will be appointable by Auguat 2019.

114 fast trackers plus a tranche of main body. Therefore by August there will be atleast an intake's worth of 1810 appointable...

GV is without a doubt full, makes me wonder how they are fitting in a new colour but I won’t complain.
I would agree with what you have clarified above. However as I have said, as per emails received by 1710, they will be appointed prior to 1810...which to be fair, makes sense.

    Ask PSNI recruitment yourself.

    Prior to is not correct

I’m don’t want to argue back and forth about it, I’m just telling you that 1710 received an email clearly stating that they are prior to. I’m sure others can confirm this. The wait is tough so I hope for your sake things move quickly either way.

Not arguing 1810 received an email saying appointments would begin August 2019.

Actually re-read the email said that the first course from 1810 would commence training in August 2019...

After queries they said courses from August 2019 onwards will contain candidates from both 1710 and 1810

Been bit of lurker on here.
I'm in the 1710 intake in the 900's still waiting on the call.

The 1710 did get the email saying taken prior to 1810 but going to guess that there will be a group maybe two that will be a mix of 1710 and 1810 to make up a full intake to gv.

Wouldnt make sense to put through a half class just to see out the 1710 campaign and some 1710 may still be going through the psni stages so or deffered to later. So what you both are saying is probably right.

At the end of the day the main aim at present of the recruitment is to get full intakes while the funding is there so this will mean some cross over of campaigns.

Basically everyone in 1710 (who passes all stages) is getting a job. Time may vary

Seems to be what there saying, would seem a waste of resources and money to put them through all stages to pass over.

Probably a stupid question lol but when you are waiting for the call is that the stage you are at when you have passed all psni managed stages and you are waiting on a phone call to start GV? I'm in the 1810 recruitment campaign ML 400-420 thanks

Congrats to all who have received THE call

If two candidates have passed all stages (including vetting) why would a lower merit list no get a call before someone higher up the list?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 229 ✭✭YNWA27

The guys who have passed all stages with a lower merit score probably only became appointable recently.

The people they selected for starting in July may have been chosen a couple of weeks ago rather than on Fri past or Mon

  • Registered Users Posts: 17 Tunafish123

Guys if you have been appointable for a while and they skipped you on the ML, ring them and find out why. That should not happen.

Like I said recruitment may be working of a slightly out of date list, offers have already been made to other candidates

surely the list couldn’t be that out of date that someone in the 900’s gets a call before two people 100’s higher in the ML if both are appointable? Doesn’t seem that fair

Peoples vetting could have cleared in the last week or so. PSNI recruitment are not making projections on information that up to date. As soon as the calls for one intake are complete they are preparing for the next ones.

By the time you get the call they have done numerous amounts of behind the scenes admin for you

  • Registered Users Posts: 7 Chambaland

If you get the call but have one date in the month which you know you need off (and it happens to clash with exams for example) is it easy enough to defer to the next intake? or how does it work?

So has anyone that feels like they've been jumped over on the list rang recruitment yet to ask or are you just going to wait out?

Sitting tight mate. Vetting only cleared on Monday, thought with me already having MOD clearance it would of cleared quite quickly but seemed to be rather the opposite.

How long was your vetting overall?

  • Registered Users Posts: 7 Up a tree

I got the info that I was progressing to vetting start Feb then that I had cleared mid April.

Then the other stages and online learning wrapped up may

I've still national SC live so sailed through. Probably takes longer for ex-MOD mob as they have to ask Glasgow to plough through disciplinary records id imagine.

Hey folks. Had posted in the 1810 thread but might be more in this one that can answer. I’ve seen people saying if you pass medical you hear the same day, is this always the case? I’m aware that PSNI say allow a week (incase it’s a fail etc...)

It's normally a week from the day you have your medical that you hear

Personally I heard the next morning. However some people may not have a straight forward medical history so I would imagine in some cases it may take a little more time for deliberation.

Yeah I know how it works, I’m in Gv atm having been through this process. Just think they should give a ring if they have been appointable for more than a couple of weeks. The list is updated before calls start.

My point was it's not "the norm"

Like vetting medical is unique to each person
