Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Don’t know where we’re heading, but there is no denying the last 3 months have been pretty bullish: 3 months ago BTC was 3000 euros and today it is 5400.

Yeah but it seems to be more a recovery from that "off the Marianas trench" drop in November

Still, am pretty impressed how the market hasn't completely plunged after the double whammy of Bitfenix and Binance hack, which seems to suggest we're slowly and finally coming out of the bear zero confidence territory of last year

Nope. Not convinced yet. To much positive news.has to dip..

As per title, have we reached the bottom ?

Don't think we'll see the likes of $3200 ever again.

    $5150 at time of posting.

Back in the mainstream media once more.

    $6150 printed.

Close to 100% gains on lowest purchases. The bear was fun while it lasted.

Looks like when it tried to drop back under $6k it bounced right off it and shot up not down. At $6300 now. Hoping it stays there at should build confidence.

Reversal of November’s crash now pretty much completed. Will be interesting to see where it goes from there. Volumes look encouraging too.

I’ve mainly used mine for my VPN and IPTV subscriptions. I’ve bought PlayStation credit from Play Aisa and other little bits. Also my bunch of friends all have wallets, if we ever owe each other money we send it in BTC :D

Nothing. Just holding it as a high-risk long term investment.

That's a very honest viewpoint, dude. It's an intensely speculative investment, with wild swings. If you're in it for your reasons, and not putting the deposit of a house on it then I'd say go for it. It seems to be how many lads are operating these days - no more bullshít talk about reading whitepapers, good teams, spurious partnerships etc. Shove the money in, ride the wave, get the hell out with a decent profit or a dramatic loss.

Like the fundamentals would be poor at the moment - Binance was hacked, Tether and iFinex are under the watchful eye of the SEC and the NYAG, Ethereum still hasn't made significant progress towards moving away from Proof of Work in a world that is becoming extremely conscious of how humanity is destroying the environment, TRON is still a thing; there is yet to be a compelling use case for blockchain.

There it is. Looked at the graph for today about an hour ago and I wasn't expecting it to hit 7k until sometime tomorrow! Alts are really pulled up this time. All my main alts have gone up more than BTC today.

$100 of bitcoin every Friday since Christmas.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,190 ✭✭✭✭Dohnjoe

It just keeps pulling, which is interesting considering it's a weekend, hard for normal investors to get their cash in.

Strange to see these gains stick, a correction is well overdue, maybe Sunday evening

Hope we see some form or correction to pick up more but we have building support with decent volume all along.

Bought some in stages in November, Xmas, earlier this year. Am still highly skeptical for this year, but this BTC charge is pretty nice

Why highly sceptical for this yeah? It's the year before the next halvening and historically...well, we all know the deal

Yup, still a bit soon after the bear. BTC looking good though with Fidelity, etc.

If it can hit $10k and make headlines again, there could be some craziness, but would rather it happens next year

From now til about precious ATH yep. Then I'll just sit and wait and buy any dips.

ETH holding is triple my BTC but ignoring that for now.

Put it all back on XLM at the dip. Hoping for a 2400% pump.

Some type of correction has to be due ... but we’ll, in the meantime BTC Gaines another few hundred euros overnight.

Why does the bitcoin rise a lot of coins, even the dascoin was up 55% yesterday.

Why does the bitcoin rise a lot of coins, even the dascoin was up 55% yesterday.

BTC pulling everything up with it due to markets based on BTC ratio, BTC's much higher USD price meaning a pump on some rando-shítcoin is "cheaper" in BTC terms if the BTC ratio for that coin has been hammered for the past 14 months (and oh my, it has).

Too many variables and would take a huge amount of analysis to map it all, but causing some low market-cap shítcoin to jolt up could cost anywhere from €100-€10k, easy to do and a very low number. The wash-trade bots equalising between exchanges would make up a majority of the volume during and after that.
I own some godawful shítcoins that would be up 300% if you spent €500.

Coins have traditionally followed BTC. The real fun starts when BTC starts to run out of steam but the market is still bullish. With their lower caps, alts are more elastic (can dive/rise exponentially more than BTC). It's the reason we had some coins do 100x in less than a year
