24 hours to get to 200mph??? Feck!

Ah yes but sure they have gone like the new S5 it has a Diesel engine 1.6tdi 116bhp :pac: Great MPG though 50 plus tipping around serious torque aswell you’d pull a heavy trailer no bother with it wouldn’t even know it was behind you.

Just watched the last episode of Grand Tour and it really took a manly tear out of me.

Mondeo part was really emotional with photos from the past of their cars or their parents and then the ending really hit in to feels. You could really see how upset Clarkson was.

Like them or not, but I will really miss them.

Miss whom? The Grand Tour is still going on, they're just getting rid of the tent/audience side of it.

It won't be same format. I know they will keep up with specials, but it won't be the same. We know this show ( one name or another ) with them for so damn long.

Guy bumps into me at lights other day.

Funny thing is we are sitting there 30 seconds then he drives into the back.

I get out to look and he goes ah sure just an accident.....

Didn't see the scratches at the time not helped by him not even moving the car..

    ...........

Does make me wonder if I could get more than 450 miles on a tank if I was a little braver and had a more economy biased driving style :pac:.
63 litres, there was about 2.5 litres of fuel left in it.

I reckon 32.5 mpg would be achievable alright if you did enough cruising at 60 ish mph etc etc etc.

Enjoy! Are you driving over or flying and renting?

Flying over staying 3 nights. We are getting a rental car over there to get around in and then you can rent cars to do laps of the track in.

Quick question. Im looking to buy some car parts on adverts using paypal. Its my first time using paypal on adverts or for a private sale. The seller sent me a money request. It just has the cash amount, no details of whats being sold. Would this still be covered by any buyer protection if its a scam or the parts are broken or wrong?

If it's listed as goods and services?

Can anyone give me a run down of the specs on the older shape (15) a4s? Hard to get clear info on them.

More specifically the 2.0 Tdis and UK imports

The words I'm hearing are SE, Ultra, Tecknik and obviously S-line....

HP varying from 136 to 163 to 177

I see there are a lot of SE models with both 136 and 163, the 163 worth the extra searching and money?

    Thanks

I think CIP4 had a 163 SE when he had the silver A4, but it was 11/12 iirc

Ultra just means the engine is a bit more green (a bit like the old TDIe)

Tecknik has a few more options over an SE but they all come with those poxy 5 spoke 16" alloys anyway

Obviously a 177 S Line is the one to have..

Is caution still needed on the dieselgate "fix" .

I understood the A4s Noccy Mondy is looking at are EA189 models.

Im not really up to date with the latest dieselgate "fix" situation.

But when I was following much more closely the impression I had was that the "fix" was VERY hit and mix.

    Still the case?????

It's mostly ok now, in fact it was mostly ok most of the time, just the people who did have issues were highly aggrieved (understandably) and made sure they were very vocal on the issue.

The update did appear to provoke some conponents into failure generally on cars that already had underlying issues or parts already known to be weak. Generally when this happened it was either immediately or very shortly after the update. If a car has went a few months or a few thousand kms since the update then it's most likely to remain fine. The bulk of the updating had began over 2 years ago now so anything still driving now should be fine, by and large anyway.

Theres still the arguement that it destroys the character/ feel/ power delivery etc but to be fair if you drive the car now and you like how it drives then that's a non issue then really.

You’ll find with the late B8 ones the specs were all over the place. But yes Ultra is just the engine emissions being better think they were the 136bhp, 163bhp basically ‘greener’ versions of the 143bhp and 177bhp.

As said in general SE is entry level, technik some extras and S-Like is top spec with some of the ‘sportier’ extras.

My dad has an Irish one 141 177bhp Quattro S-Tronic to be fair it’s very nice although even in 177 doesn’t feel very quick. But his has loads of odd ball extras that the S-Line doesn’t even have; traffic sign recognition, high beam assist, front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, Xenon lights.

You should definitely try get one with the Xenon front lights and LED tail lights as they are nicer looking and also provide far better lighting.

As nice as his one is the B9 is on the next level in terms of refinement and technology. The interior of the B8 is starting to feel a little dated as it was unchanged since 2008. So yes basically I’d say get a B9 S-Line.

Thanks for the input, car isn't for me though! Won't be an sline anyway, even the SE appears to be decently specced...

Anyone recommend an auto electrician in Dublin? Having a few small issues with the jmny I can't fix myself. I brought it to a guy today but i could tell he was lost. Horn isn't working, which i replaced and worked for a few days but stopped again. Fuses are fine. Also, windscreen washer not coming on if I pull the lever forward as it should, but will if i use the rear washer switch. NCT in 2 months...

Depends if you consider having alloys, foglights and A/C as decently specced :pac:

Ah no they are not the worst as I said judge it car to car as by 151 many of them had a lot of different extras added as it was the end of the road for that model I suppose.

I follow this guy on YouTube, I enjoy hating how ostentatious all his videos are and his excessive use of the word inflicted. This is a whole other level of being a cockey **** though IMO, it's really rubbed me up the wrong way :pac:
