Jesus some people really do over analyse and look for any small detail to whine about. Excellent episode of quality television entertainment. Epic in scale for TV. Story carries on and moves forward toward its denouement.

I know! People are so delusional these days, there is no reasoning with them. If I ever have cause to doubt that a lack of gratitude is a main reason for the surge in mental health problems these days, I will come back to this thread and be grateful for what I already have.

So why didn't the flames do anything to him then?
His plot armour was fireproof, obviously :pac:

To be fair, everyone was probably expecting the dragon fire to be the way he dies, so they didn't want to go with that.
Same as Jon usually being the hero, but not this time.

Am I missing someone with Arya and the ending of the NK... I took it straight away that she had become one of the WW with the help of the many face god (Brown eyes, Green eyes, BLUE EYES) and stood alongside the NK and she was the one who turned its head near the very end before jumping on the NK as Arya?

Have I totally this wrong? :)

That could be bang on actually.

Well glad I'm not going crazy and am the only one that had problems seeing things in the dark... Plenty of people on twitter too... Enjoyed the episode though but could have been better

have to say that I'm already sick to death of Daenerys and Jon dragon-flying scenes.

this is more entertaining at this stage! (was epic when I saw it about age 6 of course)

The more I read here and think about it, the more I think it was a little disappointing, in particular the fact that almost all of the main characters survived. While I loved the Arya and NK scene, I'd love to know how Arya managed to get past everyone with such ease

Have you watched the full series? You remember Arya trained to become an assassin? You remember the scene in this episode where she was sneaking around a library full of wights without them noticing her?
But sure if those whining remembered that or actually paid attention then what could they whine about? Aryas major storyline for her entire existence has been all about her becoming a clinical assassin, you'd think she was a clumsy oaf the way some are going on.

That was the denouement. I don't think you can raise the states beyond the end of the world.

Cersei controls one city and has a temporary mercenary army. She has no family who are loyal to her, and only has two named characters in her retinue. I can't really take her as much of a threat.

Think it’s the way that the WW who turned it’s head literally caught wind of Arya speeding past and launching her attack when it was too late.

God knows how would one would watch that in SD. Even in HD some scenes were a tad indistinct. Other than that, a fantastic hours plus worth of telly.

We watched it in SD. It was so difficult to make out who was jumping at who. The fire really helped though :D

I thought after how emotional Ep 2 was that they were all going to die.

My thinking was the NK was going to turn Dany and she was going to end up on the throne as a Night Queen :o I really thought when they were face to face i was going to be right, but i guess not.

My monitor is IPS, very colour accurate and perfectly fine for all other content. This episode was graded far too ****ing dark. There are umpteen people saying it. Deal with it.
I did, by adjusting the brightness on my telly, same as other people.

Just out of curiosity, I wonder how many people saying it was too dark watched it on a computer monitor/laptop/some form of mobile device versus watching it on a telly.

Was it a bit dark? Yes
Was it unwatchable? Very much no.

Actually, when I think back to the zombie kidnapping plot, GOT has massively improved since last season.

Because he was a Targarian before he was turned?
Was he having some kind of telepathic chat with Bran before Arya struck?

Wasn't the darkness done on purpose for reality of darkness they faced and also for tension.

Thought it added to it. Put my TV in Vivid mode and it lit up pretty good.

You would wonder what the context of the speech from Melisandre was for then, Arya was always going to try kill the NK like every single other person there, I took it that Melisandre was telling her to use what she has learnt and that you can take the face of a WW too.

Could see it perfectly fine. Wouldnt be realistic if there were artificial light. This was an intense Epic scene at night in the depth of winter

Episode was dark but didnt really struggle seeing anything.

Ive seen worse episodes for darkness of The Walking Dead

I really enjoyed the episode up until the end.

Ya the obvious plot armor and some silly choices being made but ****ing hell it was so tense and they where really starting to tease something insane about to happen. Unfortunatly not what we got...

I’ve switched my Samsung tv to sports mode and it made a difference to the darkness.

I switched my TV off and it made no difference.

It was night time. The night is dark and full of terrors. Get over it.

    I've just finished watching.

    I've some questions :
Where did Bran "go" and what was the point if him doing it?
    Is Ghost dead?
Brienne, Sam and the crazy red-haired wildling too?
Was that Gilly being dragged away in the crypt?

A lot of people here whinging there was no action in the first two episodes so we got a ton of action in this episode, of course people still aren't happy. Rewatched it tonight and could see everything, no problem with the lighting. I don't think Jon could have made passed the White Walkers and all the way to Night King to kill him. I assumed that Night King had the dragon keep Jon at bay while he deals with Bran not knowing Arya would be the one to kill him. I don't get the people getting upset over Arya been the one to kill Night King, its not they didn't give us clues to it

Too dragged out, battle too long. Too dark (can’t see a ****ing thing) knew Arya was gonna kill yer man ages before she did. Just too dragged out. Even the walk - the nk to bran took about 10 mins ffs.

Delighted that old fart that followed Dani around is dead though. Christ he was a painful character.

    Arya is the balls.

So even though the darkness was done on purpose and you thought it added to the show, you made it brighter anyways?

I didn't think the lighting was an issue until I came on here. I've learnt the error of my ways and amended my opinion.

I had awful ghosting on the picture from my sky box when I switched to vivid, had to go back to normal picture. still had a little ghosting during the dragons fight and Sansa entering the crypts.

Most obvious one is he was a Targ before he became the NK

The NK was made long before the targs were around so I wouldn't say that's it, could be something to do with the cold he emits.
