I'd say the game is praying Ronnie wins,
otherwise the viewing figures will be shot to pieces having to watch mark selby

Ronnie must have something on later this week and needs the days free

Cahill shouldn't have played that last shot. Pushed the boat out too far.......... Looks like it won't matter. AGAIN!

Some dreadful queuing from Ronnie here.

    Cahill should make this 8-5.

Slow Pink to the middle looked like it rolled away...

Ronnie in the horrors at the moment.

Looks like Ronnie's thrown his hat at this match:confused:

    Cahill in to 4/7

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,469 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

    8-5 it is.

Ronnie has no interest in playing snooker this week. Clearly just wants to be on the Eurosport couch.

Dont think ive ever seen Ronnie play this bad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,469 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Had Cahill took a few more of his chances yesterday, the match would be already over.

Wow. This is dreadful from O'Sullivan. I thought after that first frame he was gonna cruise towards victory but he's gone back into ****show mode. Cahill looking nervy though. He's giving Ronnie plenty of chances to get back into this. Can the rocket get his act together in time?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,854 ✭✭✭zuutroy

Crucible really a house of horrors for Ronnie the last 5 years.

Ronnie doesn't tend to battle through like Selby does he? Hes either on it or not. His body language is terrible today, looks well off.

When Ronnie is in bored/fidgety mode you wonder how he has ever won anything because he's liable to miss any shot/lose to any player.

Yeah, especially over longer matches. Its almost as if he purposely self destructs sometimes at the Crucible when hes a heavy favourite.

Dreadful miss by Cahill on the red after fluking the black. I wonder is it nerves of possibly seeing the finishing line.

yes he's only a 5 time world champ with over 1000 centuries

Always seemed an unnatural conjunction to me, such a twitchy guy being the most naturally gifted player at a sport where vast reserves of patience and calm are nearly always part of the package. Like a 5 foot 5 fella being an absolutely brilliant basketballer...

Yup but hes gone out in the first or second round 8 times before. Including 2016 and 2018 second round losses. A few of them were very similar to this.

Its rare, but very occasionally he doesn't turn up.

Edit - but then again he goes and knocks in a century just like he was brushing his teeth and daydreaming.

Cahill is making a few poor decisions for me at the moment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,469 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

That was a great chance botched by Cahill.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,469 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

I think Cahill is starting to unravel.

Yeah, nerves maybe starting to get the better of him. Ronnie certainly giving him the chance to beat him in most frames.

He's been nervy all day in fairness. Fighting for position the whole time. He's only winning frames because Ronnie keeps giving him second and third bites of the cherry. I'll be surprised if he manages to get a break over 40 between now and end of match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,674 ✭✭✭✭Exclamation Marc

Ronnie playing to his clinical best in this frame.

Night and day differences to even two or three frames ago.

He looks utterly jaded though as he sits back down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,015 ✭✭✭ebbsy

Arse falling out of yer man now.

Big frame here but I think he's done.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,151 ✭✭✭Sandor Clegane

Wouldn't bet against Ronnie now although he looks out of sorts.

Ronnie is such an infuriating man to be a fan of.

    Ronnie looks pretty depressed tbh.

Hopefully he scrapes over the line.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,529 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Ronnie yawning away here, looks tired and completely disinterested.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,674 ✭✭✭✭Exclamation Marc

Strange decision not to replace that second foul/miss.

Cahill has the lay to win this frame now.

He looks knackered. 8 all at the Crucible and hes yawning.

Cahill crumbling under the pressure, he couldn’t possibly be getting any more help from Ronnie but he just doesn’t have the nerve to make it count.

Bad miss from Cahill, definitely nerves and an easy clearance for Ronnie now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,674 ✭✭✭✭Exclamation Marc

Even as a Ronnie fan, an upset of this magnitude would be so much more enjoyable if he was playing near his best and was bested by Cahill playing out of his skin.

This 'not-arsed/half-asleep' performance is just so disappointing.

Woeful miss on the pink there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,469 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Cahill has had so many chances and he's blown it. Having said that, Ronnie just missed the pink.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,469 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Well done James, great bottle at the end there. Lucky though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,529 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Another terrible shot choice from Ronnie, he fully deserves to go out here.

Should be 9 all. The balls are spread nicely.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,674 ✭✭✭✭Exclamation Marc

All there for Cahill to win this match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,153 ✭✭✭✭The Nal

Needlessly aggressive shot into the pink and pack there from Ronnie. This could be it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,469 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

They're all there for the taking for Cahill. Can he hold himself together though?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,469 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Eh sorry, John Virgo, Ronnie is not the greatest ever player.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,035 ✭✭✭✭Loafing Oaf

    And there it is:eek:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,469 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Does anyone know the odds of this victory by Cahill?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,041 ✭✭✭Cosmo Kramer

Ronnie threat to quit the game coming in 5, 4, 3...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,529 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

And Cahill wins it! Disappointed to see Ronnie go out so early but he’s just never in the mood at the Crucible anymore, he fully deserved to lose that and it was there to win, Cahill didn’t exactly play jaw-dropping snooker.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,674 ✭✭✭✭Exclamation Marc

    Shambolic from Ronnie.

Great to see Cahill not break under pressure at the end. A not-arsed Ronnie didn't deserve to win that.
