Not a bad price at all if its as good as described. Pity its base spec though

This is a bloody cracking looking 190E for less than €4k!! NCT for a year, bit of tax, low owners and reasonably small miles too.

I'd have this in a heartbeat if I had the cash spare. Classic tax next year as well

    https://www.donedeal.ie/vintagecars-for-sale/1990-mercedes-190e-w201-tax-new-nct/21264144

Surprised this hasn't sold. Now €3500 down from 3750. Suppose full rate tax is holding it back, even if its only for a few more months!

That's great value in my book, Duke. I have my own one up for sale now too on DD. It's an incredibly good and clean car, drives superbly, not a rattle. Just 90k miles. Long NCT and tax. I'm told I'm not allowed to keep it though, and I suppose I shouldn't, seeing as I don't have a garage.

    Can you spot it? :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,074 ✭✭✭✭Duke O Smiley

    Saw it alright ;)

Thought I better let you do the honours of posting it here before I did though

I will gladly let you do the honours. Don't they say it's better not to blow your own trumpet? :)

Obviously only if you feel my car merits a place in this thread.

nice colour (but dark wheels do it no favours :o)

Personally I don't like white cars. The car looks incredibly fresh though. I get lots of compliments on it

The guy I bought it from really looked after it. He is a Mercedes-Benz enthusiast and club member. Genuine guy. Went out of his way to accommodate me when I went over to get it on a tight flight / ferry schedule.

He had the wheels refurbished a few months ago (they look like brand new) and they turned out way darker than what he told them he wanted. He gave out hell first, but then he saw that the colour actually matched the bumpers and he started to like it

The reason he sold it was that he got a caravan (bit of an impulse buy) and they wife wouldn't allow him to have both

The wheels do look better in the flesh than in the pictures. But personally, I would prefer the original colour wheels. I guess if the next owner is the same they could get them sprayed for relatively little money

    Very nice!

Its age works very much against it in Ireland. On the €1808 tax for another 10 years :(

I guess putting it in storage is not an option, as you won't be driving the car yourselves anyway. If I were you I would consider exporting it to the UK. Much better market for one over there and they will appreciate the quality of the car.

Did your not recently sell a 190e

A man is rich in proportion to the number of things which he can afford to let alone.

  • Registered Users Posts: 64,780 ✭✭✭✭unkel

I did. I had my 190E 2.6 straight six for 18 months and sold it early this year. I bought this one in a bit of an impulse buy because all the signs were so good, but I kinda knew that I wasn't going to keep it.

The SL has no NCT for starters.

It is also overpriced by several thousand, for the market here and in the UK. It needs something special to get that money. You can get a far more desirable 500 SL for less than that.

Poor ad as well, needs better photos.

Sorry, but between the NCT and the price, you have little chance of selling it.

These cars can't be stored on a practical level, even ones that are 'wintered' for 6 months have issues, they need to be moved regularly.

Lovely car but with 10 year of tax that is insane money.

Shame, as its not an issue with the car - it's our nonsense vehicle tax/insurance system that sends young cars to the crusher because the owners can't get insured and the government screws them in tax.

Decent price for a manual Scimitar needing a small bit of TLC (if you're not overly concerned with cosmetics)

Would love to give one of these a try some day

I've had the upholstery sorted now and tidied up a few bits and gave her a wash and wax.

Yes it did, but I have her nailed to an upside down crucifix in an anarcho-monarchist art installation I'm making at the moment loike y'know.

Excellent price for this 2200 auto if it is in any way as good as it looks; €2k!

The rear of the P6 always let it down for me. Cracking looking car from the front.

I rang about this yesterday, he seems to think he might have a buyer already.
If its in any sort of decent nick its surely worth every penny of the asking

I was looking at that as well as I have a Lexus RX400 that I'm selling soon and will replace it with a small city car and a classic, but the price along with the NCT being out since November put me off.

Did he say if it needed much work and does he have a fail sheet?

I have an eye on these if they are still available when I sell the car in May:

    6 months MOT on this

    8 months on this

Also a red Bentley Eight available on Donedeal for €7700

It does have an NCT, it isn't over priced for this market and you wont get a far more desirable 500 for less unless you want to spend a fortune getting it right. All of the cars in this country have issues. This one doesn't, everything works. Even the Beshoff car needs work doing and the two silver ones are tired and tatty, I've seen them all

€3250 seems a bit of a bargain for this Celica, its NCT'd and all according to the ad but no details found on the website.

Been thinking about something like that bentley/rolls above (one of each)
The bentley is too cheap, something must be wrong with it (No NCT??!)
