    Arrested 3 of them.

That mother seems determined for justice.

I’d say she has been hounding the gards to take action.

    Fair play.

    I have a controversial proposal.

Any one not born in Ireland. Committing a crime is deported. If you are a naturalised citizen, your citizenship is revoked and you get deported.

If the criminal is under age, then the whole family get deported.

Absolute zero tolerance to crime from foreigners. There are enough natural born Irish criminals, Ireland doesn’t need to import more.

I’m talking crimes, such as theft, burglary, assault, and so on. Anyone found to be a serious threat to public safety.

When you come to Ireland, you should know, Ireland welcomes everyone except criminals.

Of course this is never going to happen in Ireland. But one can dream.
But these lads are born here. They are Irish. Some of their parents came as legitimate asylum seekers, some came as legitimate economic migrants, the majority came as economic migrants posing as asylum seekers. Whatever the case, they were mostly ghettoised in certain areas with no plan on how to integrate them and no impact assessments done. We could have looked at any of our continental neighbours to see what pitfalls to avoid but instead we repeated their mistakes all the while cowering lest anyone call us racist.

You tell me very terry. You seem so sure it wasn’t racially motivated perhaps you might explain how you’ve come to that conclusion?

Why does it matter if it was a racist attack? Whether it was or wasn’t, the family’s ordeal was the same. I don’t care if this is a racist or black or non national thing, I just want the authorities to deal with it so no family (Irish or non Irish) or person has to be subjected to this thuggery.

There does seem to be the complete opposite approach to foreign nationals in this country , an approach that actually protects pieces of sh*t for fear of stoking up xenophobic sentiments. These tactics create a divide and Probably do as much if not more damage to cultural integration.

I would prefer if the laws just outlaw this sort of stuff and come down hard on anybody in these types of groups. We saw how quickly headshops were legally banned when the political will was there. We need to be able to have an open forum discussion on this because while it may be a new phenomenon, it will most likely be met with groups of national children adopting the same anti social recreation.

According to the victims mother there were several whites involved in this assault so it's highly unlikely to be racially motivated.

It seems like some of the lads are panicking / trying to scrub themselves from the internet.

There was one of the lads, Irish name, was named by the victim's Mam and I just did a quick search for him on Facebook. He played for a certain GAA team and they had a photo of him up from a year ago about how he had represented a Dublin minors team.

Went to send it to a friend who was catching up on all of it last night and the photo had been removed from the GAA team's page already.

Go after the ****ing parents then for being incapable of parenting. Majority would be welfare recipients... cut it from them if they can't curfew their anchor babies. Maybe then they might give a **** about what their spawn are up to...

How do you know they were born here?

They could’ve come from the backstreets of Kinshasa last week as far as anyone knows?

because teenagers fresh off the boat dont immediately form huge organised gangs that go around beating white kids.

One of the reason you lads are in decline is exactly because of posts like these.

While there are people out there working with communities, working with groups, working with individuals across the country combating crime, regardless of the skin colour, ethnicity or nationality of the perpetrator. We have a tiny number of very vocal individuals who will only comment about crime if there is a possibility it can be pinned on a dark skinned person, or "African", as the racist posters on here like to call them.

Irish people aren't falling for it. They haven't in the past, they're not now, they won't in the future. A bunch of Tarquins sitting at home in their middle class homes, talking about how the "Africans" are taking over, will never be listened to. These people will achieve nothing from behind a computer. The people on the ground in these areas are the ones that are being listened to and the ones that can actually help.

There are plenty of crimes committed every day. There are plenty of gangs throughout the country committing crimes every day. There are plenty of stories of gangs attacking black people that I don't comment on or condemn every day. By not commenting on these stories or condemning them, I am not downplaying them. To suggest it is, is intellectually dishonest, you need to put aside your embarrassing petty grudges and start working to help combat this type of crime.

I'll take this opportunity once again to post the link allowing people to report racist incidents online. Perhaps it needs its own thread, hopefully it won't come to that.

It only takes a second, you can copy and paste the URL and/or screen grab the incident. I suggest reporting using the link above before reporting the incident to the website owner or media outlet.

    Stopped reading.

I'm far from racist. I'm not part of some hive mind or alt-right congregation. In fact, go ahead and post one racist quote I've ever posted on this site. You won't be able to . Because I never have, never will. It's you and your ilk that's the problem here. YOU. Bury your head and cry racism at any given opportunity, even where there's none to call out. You and your ilk have lessened the power of that word. Congratulations on that. Normal people now just roll their eyes when that accusation is leveled at them, which is a shame because their are still racists and racism out there but it's you and yours that are given them freer reign. The irony is staggering. Again, well done. Bravo. You're a modern day hero.

If this was a gang of any coloured people tracking down an any coloured youngster and beating the living crap out of them, I would comment on it.

Can you just give me an example from the last week, or even last month of another large gang of marauding youths - red, yellow, white, black, don't care - moving around in packs on public transport and robbing and mugging and attacking random people at will? Maybe it's a thing among young people now, I don't know.

How are people to discuss this sort of crime in your opinion? Or is it not allowed? Because they might be black? That's racist you know. It's condescending low-expectation patronage of races if they have to be treated differently.

    Where ? Which gangs ?

I'm aware of our traveling friends who get equal protection from the government and media, but aside from them, where are all these other gangs you mention supposedly going round in large groups and assaulting anyone they happen to meet.

Again, where and who ? Where can we find these white gangs going round attacking black people ? Can you link to news reports to prove they exist ?

If they were born here after 2004 then they are not considered Irish.

not downplaying anything. just saying you cant deport irish citizens. the damage has been done. the ghettos have formed and integration has failed. the right move would have been to deport failed asylum seekers in a timely fashion but instead they were allowed to languish until it was too late. this was allowed by ineffectual systems in place and encouraged by advocacy groups. now two parallel societies have formed along race lines in these areas of north dublin. everyone loses.

No I wouldn’t. She hasn’t been arrested, charged and deported. I wouldn’t want the government to help her get back. Just Tom e able to get back to living s normal life after what she did.

No. Any child born to a non national after the 2004 referendum isn’t made an automatic Irish citizen.

You really seem to believe that if you think/say something it makes it true. The right has never been more popular Europe wide. The far right has also gained more support in the last decade than in the previous three. A fact you've denied and ignored a few times before, even when evidence is laid at your feet.
Irish people aren't falling for it. They haven't in the past, they're not now, they won't in the future.
Again with the wishful thinking fantasies in your own head. When on another thread you wheeled this out I was able to give a number of clear examples where the "Irish people" have been anything but welcome of outsiders since the foundation of the state. But of course you did your usual fingers in the ears "I'm not listening" act and ignored it in favour of your wishful thinking fantasies.
There are plenty of stories of gangs attacking black people that I don't comment on or condemn every day.
If there are "plenty" please enlighten the rest of us and give examples. Two will do. Not "plenty", I grant you, but it would be a start. Or is it again only in your head where these attacks happen? There seems to be a pattern here.
    intellectually dishonest

And the passive aggressive legal threat to posters and Boards.ie, because time and time again your "arguments" have proven to be smoke in the wind. If your position is so solid, why do you have to resort to such tactics as deflection, avoidance and veiled threats of legal action?

You've imagined me calling you a racist. It's not the first time you've imagined this and not only from myself. It's good to see you still have your "I'm not a racist" quotes on speed dial though.

When I refer to "you lads", I'm referring to the delusional ramblings of a tiny number of individuals who offer nothing positive to Irish society or Irish people. An ever decreasing group of people demanding that everyone stops what they're doing to listen to their rants and diatribe on a daily basis.

There is a reason why you lads are never listened to. When you start taking crime seriously, all crime regardless of the background of the perpetrators, people will start taking you seriously.
