Install the Amazon app on your phone, scan the barcode, and see what Amazon are charging.

Obviously not an exact science, but it'd give a good idea.

Now that no man is ever going to shave with Gillete again .... (thanks to their feminist claptrap).

Wilkinson Sword Extreme 3, 4 pack is reduced to €2.44 in Tesco Galway Shopping Center. (Normally €4.89)

€50 is off the charts on pricing, that Tesco price is very good though, downside to these is they are easily forced open

My stuff for sale on Adverts inc. outdoor furniture, roof box and EDDI

Don’t trust these, YouTube has plenty of videos showing hacks to open it, or they can be popped open and broken easily

    Ah beaten to it

Composite video is VHS quality - absolute utter crap.

Basically this is junk. Go buy a second hand deck from ten years ago for the same money because it'll be vastly more useful.

The staining under the tape on the box shows its been in a store room for years and years, very plausibly a decade or more.

Yep. Plus, you can buy Blu ray players for around 30-40 euro max. A much better way to spend your money if you're after a physical media player.

As before that DVD player doesn't have HDMI.
This also means you can't use CEC to control it with the TV's remote, or jump to that HDMI input when the player is powered on.

It doesn't have full SCART so it can't jump to that input either.

I picked up a Blu ray player from CEX for €20 a while back.

feel a bit stupid as i got a 4k sharp tv from tesco celbridge last week for 399 which apart from not turning off , was brilliant watching blueplanet in 4k via a sky box, but was less than mediocre on any other format, not as good as the hd i was planning to replace , so i returned it. theyre all gone now though.
i reckin maybe i didnt have the picture settings right.

  • Registered Users Posts: 67 ✭✭Gatoh

    Correction,
Sharp brand was never sold to anyone, however manufacturers can make a  make a deal with well known brands and manufacture products for them for certain period of time ( subject to contract)
Both Sharp and JVC branded TV sets for European market are manufactured exclusively by Vestel , and with some reason not in Turkish factories ( not that will help) but mainly in China - what could explain why them brands name carry now low quality budget aura..
Hisense is a Chinese brand and manufacturer and I would not use the words "decent" and "Hisense" together. In matter of fact, Sharp sued Hisense over 'shoddily' made TV sets 2017 in US.
But I am agree here with Sugarman about LG brand , well built quality TV's ( without magic remote navigation is a bit messy but..)  and well priced against real budget, low quality junk TV's

As if I haven't enough gadgets lying about the place, found a shelf sticker in celbridge saying nowtv stick 1 month sport pass 12 .49 valid till 1st of June . After much scratching of heads, got one. There was one left. In another branch now and no sign of the offer.

There was a half price promo running around Christmas. Offer wasn't exclusive to Tesco. Even Lidl were doing the NowTV sticks. Four options IIRC. Entertainment/Movies/Sports/Combi.
