I saw the following that are now deceased:

Freddy Mercury (with Queen) - Knebworth in 1986

Philip Chevron (with The Pogues) - Croke Park in 1987

David Bowie - Slane in 1987 (Glass Spider Tour)

Stuart Adamson (with Big Country) - Slane in 1987

Frank Sinatra - Lansdowne Stadium in 1989

Sammy Davis Junior - Lansdowne Stadium in 1989

Prince - Páirc Uí Chaoimh in 1990 and R.D.S. in 1992
Tom Petty (with the Heartbreakers) - The Point in 1992 and 3Arena in 2012
Howie Epstein of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - The Point in 1992

Glenn Frey - National Stadium in 1992

I am sure I have seen Ronnie Drew and Barney McKenna of The Dubliners at some stage too.

I saw Crowded House at the Point Theatre at some stage in the early '90s. I'm pretty sure the lineup included their late ex-drummer and founding member Paul Hester.

There is already a thread about this under the music sub-forum:

You might want to rephrase that one Crazyguy01 or maybe you have something against Canadian, square guitar playing performers.

Joe Strummer (delighted to have seen him)

Lou Reed in Royal Albert Hall

    Prince (thanks for reminder)

Always regret not swapping Rolling Stones for Bowie tickets when asked back in the day, both playing The Point in the space of a week

That Stones gig in the Point has gone down as a classic though. Ive seen it mentioned in more than one list of greatest Irish gigs of all time, so don't beat yourself up about it:D

David Bowie would be the big one. I had to check if Neil Diamond was still alive. Turns out he is alive and still touring.

Elliott Smith in the Red Box circa 2000. Bell X1 supported in one of their first gigs.

Stones in the Point was ok. Far far better last year in Croker. And Glastonbury 2013 was as good as it gets.

Bowie in the Point was one of the greatest though yeah. Peak Bowie.

I thought the Stones at the point was far superior. Maybe it was down to the (for them) intimate surroundings. My Bowie experience was Slane, about as far as you can get from peak Bowie, aside from Tin Machine that is :D

Stones in the Point was certainly an event alright. I clearly remember the "celebs" taking their seats and being cheered from the floor. Dave Fanning got a cheer. And speaking of not being around anymore, Gerry Ryan got a cheer and then a chorus of boos! Think they were boos of love.

I remember that distinctly and, correct me if I'm wrong, the crowd broke into chants of "You fat b@stard, You fat ba@stard"
