Can people explain the graphs here with how likely snow is to come?

I may as well be looking at a white canvas

Thats what most people on here want to be looking at ironically

    green=rain

red=snow (or a variation of it)

Very fluid situation tonight and difficult to interpret. The more the UK goes subzero the more our chances increase. Interesting nowcast situation anyways.

    Rain near Mallow... lashing.

Only problem down here will be ice in the morning.

Raining in Carlow town all day and has been around 4 degrees. It has dropped to 2 degrees now and a strong wind has picked up, still raining though so I assume the chances of snow here are minimal.

save the trouble and jazz it up

Wonder if inner Dublin could be in for some snowstreamers tonight based of Met eireann's forecast. Temp dropping rapidly here, 3.0C (was 3.5 10 mins ago)

Temp 2 dp 1. Both dropping . Fingers crossed.

Live radars would be better served just showing precipitation.

    Snowing in ennis, maybe sleet..
    Looks nice though

Heavy rain in Limerick City. Drying up now.

If it was to freeze tonight, there would be treacherous conditions in the morning.

At the moment, it's about 4c

Lots of precip right here at the East Coast now I reckon inland Meath could get a surprise.

Not sure if they'll stretch this far but central meath, southwards could benefit

I just drove home over the mountain roads from Sandyford to Knocklyon.

    I drive a Landrover.

Dont attempt to get to the viewing point after hell fire club if your not in a well prepared 4wd.

still nothing here for past 4 hours, despite what the radar has showed.

Very light rain with sleet mixed in at times in South Laois all day. The front delivered just 3.5mm from all the precipitation, so if it was snow from the get go,only 3cm would have fallen.

Back to the present, temperatures falling now, 2.1c and a 0.8c dewpoint. A 1 degree drop is all that is needed now and the precipitation to beef up. Currently sleet, in a stern ESE wind, slowly backing east.

You can just show precipitation (and not precipitation type) if that's what you choose. Like this:

Hard to tell the state the front is when there seems to be radar issues. Really odd patches, unless the Wicklow mountains are casting oddly defined shadows.

Not that a perfectly working radar is going to make it snow anyway sadly!

Looking at the precip radar on met.ie, some shower activity has bubbled up out of nowhere north of Castlecomer (Kilkenny) spreading north. It's a mixture of rain and schleet though outside my location. Edit: could be radar issues as John.Icy has referred to

There is a chance but it’s radar watching at this stage.

Temperatures starting to fall with pace, 1.9c in South Laois

Was in Tallaght today, the Wicklow mtns certainly casting a shadow over the M7. Sleet stopped right on the Laois-Kildare border. Rain in Tallaght until 4pm and as I was leaving a moderate fall of sleet and graupel mixed that started to settle until it stopped. Again, most of the M7 through Kildare was noted for it's absence of precipitation, especially through the road widening zone.
