So, if i am following this line of thought, Sauron has a power to be able to find Frodo, maybe gets to use it one a day, like Romeo trying to find his Juliet, but I don't think Frodo is actively looking for Sauron, so only one half of the Romeo/Juliet mechanic, but if Frodo uses the ring, it makes it easier for Sauron to find him, probably gets extra search attempts.
Frodo will be looking for Sam and Sam knows who Frodo is so he will be signaling to him.

I was thinking that since the OP mentions that Sam always knows "where" Frodo is, he might get a notification if Frodo is converted

    what, why?

Sam is effectively unrolled until the time Frodo dies.
When Frodo dies then Sam know whether Frodo was a cult member or they will get the ring.
Sam should not be signalling and should remain hidden as to signal would jeopardise their need to remain hidden and take on the job of ring bearer if Frodo is killed and not a cult member.

The notification is that he won't get the ring when he sees the player who he knows is Frodo die.

Which is pretty unhelpful to the village at that point and the wording is fairly important in Sam's role which is why I disagree. Always knows where Frodo is, that implies he'll know or get some indication if Frodo is converted.

Is it normal for lynch form to be opened so early?

Doesn't have to be normal if its in the OPs game schedule.

"The game begins as soon as the mods say go, with lynch form opened immediately."

  • Forum Games Player Posts: 2,714 ✭✭✭Vernon WW

"Please note that from day 2 onwards majority voting will be in place."

So what happens on day 1 lynch?

Yeah I know its in the op thats why Im wondering why it was specifically mentioned

"In the event of Frodo’s death, the ring will pass to Samwise and the same rules will apply to him – UNLESS Frodo has become a Nazgul."

    From the OP.

How can you disagree if its in the OP?

Majority voting means as soon as majority reached, day ends, verses lynch not ending until end of phase.

Ok, so say lynch is reached at 1pm does that mean the next day starts at 1am?

I disagree with your assertion that Sam won't know Frodo has been converted. In relation to Sams role description saying he always knows where Frodo is, that leads me to believe that Sam will know if a conversion has taken place.

Yeah, not a huge fan of that. Could be a lot of potential vote history missing if it's majority rules.

    Mod Clarification on Majority Voting:

If a majority is reached prior to or at 4pm, those with night actions will have 2 hrs to enter them. A lynch will then take place again at 9pm and the schedule will return to it's normal form.

If majority is reached after 4pm, the day ends early and the schedule does not change ie, 10am will be the next announcement.

This will be in effect from Day 2 onwards. Day 1 phase will play out irrespective of whether a majority is reached at any stage.

Any further questions, players can PM the mods.

    :)

Majority lynch means you should be 100% certain about your vote before you place it - ESPECIALLY when it gets close to lylo time.

If you normally do placeholder votes in games - Don't this time.

    Further Mod Note:

In case the OP wasn't clear - this game begins on a lynch, this is day 1. Lynch tomorrow at 9pm.

  • Forum Games Player Posts: 3,295 ✭✭✭Gabriel WW

Meaning lynch tonight, like in 4 hours' time???

    Really?
when is tomorrow at 9pm ever in four hours?

Okay. But "this is day 1" confused me. As usually this is day 0.

For today to be D0 and tomorrow to be D1 there has to be a night cycle. Don't give the mods any ideas!

The Easterlings have been acting up a bit, but all good otherwise.

Once those olyphants haven't gone rampaging yet that's the main thing.

Ok, I'm just going to ask before we set out on a long, arduous quest where lots of people will likely be killed...

Can we not just get the eagles to do all the work for us?
