I enjoyed the new episode. Winning £125k is nothing to be sniffed while being the first contestant of the new year.

Certainly compared to most of them in the last series, who were generally gone within ten minutes.

Is it going to be on over 5 consecutive nights or once a week for 5 weeks? Sorry if this was answered already. I really enjoyed it tonight. Not as good as the original with Chris Tarrant but a great show still.

    7 straight nights, I think.

Does Clarkson ever know the answer. Was not sure if he knew the Sri Lanka answer or not

In fairness, I'd believe that he knew about Amundsen - you could imagine him reading about polar explorers as a child.

Well that (the missed phone call) was obviously done on purpose for (cough) comedy effect....... It went to voicemail after a couple of rings.

She's going home with £32k after this break.

Clarkson's links to the ad breaks are shockingly unfunny.

And he is so rude .

    Fargo, great film

Delighted. Seems like a smug "know it all" who doesn't clearly "know it all"

Brilliant that Clarkson knew to rub it in!

Blue was my very hazy guess, but a classic case of something we see every day and promptly ignore, so madness to play it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,090 ✭✭✭✭Andy From Sligo

if he had phoned me I could have told him it was blue - I called it up on my laptop as soon as the question was asked :D

And the way he kept saying what a difficult question it was. It was a relatively easy question I felt.

i would go as far as to say embarrassingly cringy - we dont need to know that the adverts pay for the prize money or anything else. all he needs to say is "... we will find out after this break!" - that's all he has to do

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,886 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

Your man Evan is to win £64k when the break is over.

The safety net crap is ruining it. It's way too much pressure.

I like this guy. Thought I wouldn't but I am rooting for him unlike that smug Scouser last night

He really played it right. Never got over cocky but didn't buckle. Age may have something to do with holding your nerve.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,037 ✭✭✭✭The Talking Bread

Clarkson spend 1/4 of the time explaining the rules, a 1/4 of the time cutting to ads, a 1/4 of the times for the ads themselves and the other 1/4 for the actual questions and answers

Pressure, does funny things. Same as the Black Chair in Mastermind. He's a bit edgy.
Have no complaints with Jeremy, enjoy him actually, even though I generally dislike him.
