strange way to display the draw bracket that way.

The draw is fixed seed wise for No.1 to play No.4 and No.2 to play No.3 in the semi's should they get there.

Will Hill need to swap Q3 out of the picture there.

Disappointing if MvG and Anderson can’t meet in the final

    TbL

There hasn’t been many great finals in recent years. Semi-finals usually throw up the best games.

Taylor/Anderson and Lewis/Anderson are the only decent ones i can remember since 07. Some absolute dross in that period too like Shepherd/Part and Hamilton/Lewis, the rest all fade to memory apart from last year.

MvG and Wright was decent. Not great but decent.

2013 final, MvGs first, he went 2-0 an 4-2 up only for Taylor to win 5 consecutive sets. Alot of those sets went down to a last leg decider. That's why I love set play the over all score could be lopsided but the match could be full of drama.

Gonna be tricky to see too many upsets from the top 32 round 2 matches up till the evening session of 19th Dec as they will be playing someone who has already gone through a match that evening

Edit - just noticed. This only applies to Cross on the first night.

The schedule is a bit mad. Having someone play two long matches on the same day is a massive disadvantage. Surely they could have organised it a bit better.

Only happens the once though, is that right? To avoid it completely they would have needed to have just first round matches on the opening night which would have been a fairly low key way to kick things off.

Do agree it's a huge disadvantage though

Nicholson has to play twice in the same day, although afternoon and evening session. That may be the only other one but it is a disadvantage and shouldn't happen at a World Championships. It should be a an equal playing field for all. In fairness I haven't seen the players complain though.

It’s only in nonsense events bar the Grand Slam.

Matchplay and Grand Prix don’t do this which I’d class as the next biggest.

Reckons Cross will be out in the 1st round and Wright will make the final.

If Wright gets to the final I’ll eat my jocks!!!

I know it's the worlds, but I find it a bit flat for the first few days. Does all the dross stuff have to be on telly?

Isn't it better to be on tv than not on tv? You can just switch over if you don't want to watch sure!

I enjoy the early rounds, seeing players who don't regularly feature on TV. Always like seeing the qualifiers from around the world.

Michael Smith at 5/2 to win his quarter of the draw looks very generous to me
