Anyone know if there is an all4 app for the shield there is one specifically for the fire stick and it works great . I downloaded one on to the sheild but it looks like it's optimised for a phone and doesn't look great on the shield.

Ordered the Shield and a 2Tb external drive. Happy days. The price changed at checkout for some reason though... £133 instead of £129. No idea why.

They readjust the final total to charge Irish VAT. Happens to all Amazon orders.

Oh yeah see it there now . I was looking at the one with the controller . Not sure if I’d get into the gaming on it but just in case !

I have PS2 pads in the attic one is spurious and one official any of these work with the Shield?

Also anyone recommend a USB hub as bought memory card with this?

Also whats user experience with Harmony Hub Elite remote as going to synch it with this and see also how it reacts with Alexa the lazy bugger that I am:D

I have a powered USB 3 Hub connected to Port 2 on the Shield with 3 Hard drives connected(1 X 1Tb and 2 X 2TB) and then a USB 3.1 Sandisk drive with 128GB used as internal storage connected to port 1 via a USB 3 extension cable, as a direct connection into the shield makes the sandisk too hot and I burnt out one previously(known issue)

All this is controlled via a Harmony Elite so I never need to use the remote or game pad.

Ok don't think I will need that much storage

But read about the burn out thus reason looking for USB 3 Hub. I will link it to the Elite and see how it works with Alexa as this a new skill

plex forum appears to be an issue for a while but unable to see a fix?

Yes directory's are structured spent a day faffing about, i tested running my MacBook as a server reading media from external drive with same structure and TV shows populate.. would be interested if anyone else has same issue or resolved it .

Done that, I have also tried uninstalling Plex sever updates and also done a factory reset on shield. Do you use one yourself as a server?

No i have a remote server. It says something about your file structure of it happens again after a clear data. Can you post a screenie of a show at season level. You need a folder for TV shows, each show in its own folder with season folders with episodes named correctly with the show name season and episode number in the title

Series/Episode type TV Shows
To name series/episode based shows:

TV Shows/ShowName/Season XX/ShowName – sXXeYY – Optional_Info.ext
Where:

XX is the season number
YY is the episode number
…Optional_Info is additional optional text (e.g. episode title) that is ignored by Plex, and ext is the file extension. (Some operating systems such as Windows may hide your file extensions by default.)

I have the Plex server on Shield and had to refresh my library during the week and had no issue with TV Shows etc.
As suggested you may need to put up some screen shots and the folder and naming structure is critical in order for plex to see media .
When setting up in terms of pointing plex towards media make sure in your options that TV shows are indeed classified as TV shows etc.

I have never managed to get PLex working properly! Every time I launch it some issue occurs. I might just remove everything from my PC and Shield and try it again.

I tried Emby and it works perfectly. Not as pretty as the Plex interface though, but seems more solid.

Where is your media stored,is it on a PC ?
If your media is on a PC with the Plex server in the Shield pointing towards it then i suggest it can have issues as there is a known drop out issue between a PC and the Shield if you have mapped drives etc.
If You turn off and on your Shields and do not have a static IP set up it can then lose touch with the PC etc.
There are many possibilities to your issue

Yes, I have all the media on a PC directly in the room above. It's constantly dropping out and works intermittently. I've just given up at this stage. I'll try once more with a fresh install.

Thats the root of your issue
Best suggestion is to put on external hard drives and connect through powered USB hub to shield and then you can actually map the drives from the shield back to your PC ,that's how i have it set up and i can drag and drop from PC into the hard drives then.
One point to note when you do connect a hard drive to the shield is that it creates its own folder on the hard drive and calls it NVIDIA SHIELD this is the writable folder that your media then goes in and you create a subfolder structure i.e. TV Shows/Movies etc.

OK cool! I will have to try that out. So, I have all my media on an external drive, connected to a powered USB hub, connected directly to the SHield? How does the PC then communicate with that external drive?
