If anyone is selling the 3rd gen dot for less than 25 I'd be interested.


I had hoped to pick up a load of home automation bits on black Friday but after being delayed getting into the new house I think ill have to wait until the next sales

But for an extra £22, you get the hub and a 3rd gen. Echo Dot.

Anyone have the lightstrips ? hearing mixed reports about them.
It seem the lights are spaced quite far apart so it looks like a string of lights when shining on a wall rather than one solid glow ?

Also seeing some bad reviews of the 3rd gen lightstrip where the adapter is fused onto one end which makes it difficult to hide if used for under cabinet lighting.

Our office runs on the Ubiquiti stuff with 4 or 5 APs across the rooms and probably over 100 users simultaneously. No issue with it here. They are all ceiling mounted

I've installed lots of Unifi. Get it mounted high, preferably on a ceiling where you'll most likely also give good coverage to the room or attic above. There's a software you run for configuring them that gives some handy info and stats if you have the ability to run it all the time

I have a POE switch in the attic so going to attach it to that and hopefully mount it on the upsturs landing ceiling. Which will give cover to all bedrooms and attic.

Some people say they can get a good signal from a mast 2mils away.

It's for my dad. He is unable to get broadband but has a eir mast near by which he gets a couple of bars 3G from phone, so hoping the antenna pi"ulls in a good signal. Heard good things about it. If it doesn't work I'll send it back but hoping it does.

Antenna plugs directly into the router using sma connections. And can be mounted on window with suction cups supplied or up on a pole on the roof.

There's few deals for some only mobile datta ATM. 19.99 for 20GB. If anyone knows of any offers for mobile data they have come across let me know.

Hioing to setup a camera at the house also and use this to connect into it when he is away or for me to check on the house.
