    OK baby steps...

The defence using the thong was in my opinion a cheep immoral ploy. We don't really know how much of an influence it had on the jury if we're being honest.

Now,the thong was evidence and the defence were within their rights to use it, regardless of their motives(which I incidentally disagree with), can you understand that?

Yes and discussion was cheap immoral ploy not weather they were within the right to use it because it was part of evidence. Can you comprehend that doing your baby steps or should we go slower.

But the "evidence thing" isn't avoiding the question, it's answering the question.

He wasn't in court, he has no idea what was or wasn't presented, it would be unprofessional of him to elaborate on a scenario he has no knowledge of. We need a lot more information about what was said during the trial, not just about the closing statement.

But the discussion was the closing statement, it wasn't the trial. Who cares about the trial, he could be found not guilty because of thousands of reasons. The problem is that alleged victim's (at the time) clothing was deemed relevant enough to bring it up in the concluding speech.

    What are you talking about?

We've covered the motives of presenting the evidence on the part of the defence was a bad thing.

Next can you accept that the thong was a piece of evidence and as such it could be presented in the court?

    Glazers Out!

You can't separate them, the closing statement is part of the trial. Ciara Kelly didn't grasp that today but honestly it's very straightforward.

We need to see the total trial to understand the context of the closing statement.

I would say there is a lot of what you are not familiar with so I wouldn't overly worry about that.

True, sadly, a bit like your unfamiliarity with grammar..

    Still, onwards and upwards, eh?

Back on topic though, isn't Ciara great, all the same ..?

Did anyone ever deny that? Why would that even be discussed except to avoid the question he was asked?

It was a typo, I'm also not a native English speaker. My German, Italian and Croatian are also very rusty but I'm confident my Slovene is pretty good. If my English offends you we can try in one of those languages.

You've been slipping that jab for the last few pages.

The legal system isn't about morality, just look at the amount of repeat offenders roaming the streets. This case possibly swung on this thong issue or perhaps the evidence presented to the jury allowed them to come to an informed decision.
The notion presented that thongs would represent some form of perceived sexual provocation to the mind of certain people in society who may end up on jury duty in 2018 is laughable and insulting to the jurors.

I think then you should write the letter of complaint to that barrister that she insulted the jury's intellect.

I'm not getting bent out of shape over this.
I'll leave the letter writing to someone else.

    Mod Note

Having gone back over the last number of pages and handing out various warnings, enough is enough, most of you are here long enough to know the charter, if you can't remember I suggest having a reread of it. There will be no more warnings, it will be bans going forward from this point.

    thanks PC7

I see they are using the segment where Ciara loses the plot as an advertisement to the show - personally that would put me off from listening.

Agreed,a serious mis-step from producers in my opinion. It really grates to hear a "host" screeching at a contributor in such a tone.

Incredibly unprofessional and lacking any semblance of a debate.

    Cackling Kelly is utterly appalling.

Her interview method is as follows...

.....Screech,screech,ask question, screech, screech, interrupt, cackle, interrupt, howl across interviewee with her own biased opinion,cackle,cackle,cackle........

She's typical of the "tolerant" liberal types that make up 99 per cent of the media: Colette Browne, Kitty Holland etc. etc. They're very nice until you disagree with them. Then you're a racist, sexist misogynist[Insert favourite buzzword]

Well here's one before she says it, men tend not to go to the doctor. Traditionally we'd rather tell our mates down the pub. We're not as good as women in going to the doctors

Lads if you want a 100% foolproof scientifically proven way to improve any mans health and extend his lifespans by upwards of 10 years there really is only one answer, Castration.

If you want to live a longer, happy and stressless life with countless hours more free time it is your best option. Just look at my cats for an example.

You know I remember a few years ago, I remember watching an episode of Love/Hate. Nidge came back home late one night to his moll and there she was asleep in her bed wearing this sexy lingerie. The response from a lot of women on social media was "yeah sure, she just goes to bed every night wearing her best lingerie". These contributors were alluding to the fact that they would have only been expecting her to wear sexy lingerie if she was anticipating sex, and not something that she would realistically wear just to sleep in. So while it is not conclusive by any means, underwear can be indicative of what a woman's intentions are for the night.

The solicitor was mealy mouthed yesterday, but Kelly was just childish in her responses and shouting. The women is not mature or professional enough to be given her own radio show. NT got caught already with her maligning that doctor, and she will lose her composure and cause more legal issues for NT in the near future.

This is ridiculous. Why don't you say this to females in your family and see what reaction you get.

I asked my sister and she agreed that it should be admitted as evidence. She's 21.

I suspect you and her are significantly in the minority on this topic

How about if a lady was raped and was found to have condoms in her purse with a receipt from that day.

Should that be used as evidence that she gave consent?
