ipso facto, a plot that wasn't foiled or carried out, and Macron is still alive, thank God

That's interesting. So, what do you admire about Trump and why?

But you have no proof of your claim outside of a Russian propaganda outlet..

It feels like this "fake news" conversation is had with new posters on a weekly basis. Has any of our pro-military/pro-Trump posters given their take on his performance in France? I'd love to hear their logic on why this wasn't disrespectful because he just didn't understand the importance.

I never mentioned Fake news, in any of my posts
I think Trump was lucky to get out of France alive, and that is due to the Secret Service, and Putin, and President Trump's own instinct, he is from New York
Respect is earned, disrespect is free, in relation to your third question

Yet you posted some nonsense about assassination attempts that you couldn't possibly have seen or heard with your own bits.

Haha. Please. So precisely what I said: only news that isn't suitably hagiographical to Trumps administration. To follow your own logic, was Fox News 'the Enemy of the People' for attacking Obama over tan suits and poupon mustard preferences?

If you have to resort to grammatical pedantry, your point becomes more than redundant - just because you personally don't rate CNN. Give enough rope and a man might hang himself; if Trump insists of running his Presidency from Twitter, then this is the end result - increased exposure and criticism.

And it's particularly rich for you to complain about Free Speech, only to then nod and agree that it's OK for a Political Leader to label a media outlet as 'the Enemy of the People'; a demontrably dangerous, vicious thing to do that flies in the face of any notion of Free Speech or Free Press - confirmed by CNN receiving pipe bombs in the mail. In fact it's downright hypocritical.

could you please condense that to the main questions or points,
sorry short on time and trying to reply to all posts

What lies have been said about Trump in the media? There must be loads of examples given his frequent diatribes about them.

CNN and the Washingto Post said he is a racist, that is not true, just slander

And Trump's Twitter feed and Sputnik.

You don't watch tv but you know all mainstream media is lying because Trump says so.

And we've spent four or five pages on debunking bunk that has been repeatedly debunked over the past two years.

    Why?

Not for Jim Acosta, April Ryan or Abby Phillip

There is a big difference between Free Speech and disrespecting the rules in the WhiteHouse

This thread has mostly been taken up today by a brand new poster who arrived in with a ludicrous conspiracy theory about Trump not visiting the cemetery because of some assassination plot with either himself or Macron being the target.

I don't want this place to be an echo chamber, and I'm as guilty as anyone of doing it, but perhaps it would be best just not to engage with such obvious trollery / firehose of falsehood-ism..

There's plenty of evidence of that. Going back to his pre-POTUS days. But his own lawyer; Michael Cohen has said that he frequently used racist language in his presence.

While you are correct. Engaging is only one half of the question. A failure is happening. It is not constricted to either half.

It's another piece of evidence of Trump admiring and praising an assault on a journalist. An assault that was recorded on audio, and would take 30 seconds to Google (less as it was a guardian journo) if you were serious about engaging in discussion in this thread instead of pleading users to condense their posts. If you're genuine about believing your eyes and ears, then go find the audio logs to indulge them, don't ask others to search public domain for you. Guanforte assaulted a journalist

Um..... let's see..... Unless he can be in two places at the same time I would hazard a guess that him being in France would make it kinda impossible to be in Arlington cemetery on the same day.

Today is Veterans day, yesterday was memorial Day.

Trump is back in Washington and the proposed visit was today. Monday is Veterans Day and thus the traditional day for the President to visit. A lid was called on Presidential movements (I.e. leaving the WH) at 10AM this morning, therefore, no visit to Arlington.

Wrong. Yesterday was Veterans day. Today is the Federal holiday that is given because Veterans day fell on a Sunday this year. Memorial day was in May.

On Memorial Day, Trump Honors ‘Our Heroes’ at Arlington

Once again can you show me where the visit was planned for today? He made the traditional Memorial day visit in May. I see nothing on the news sites about how he failed to show up for this supposed visit. Yer man's tweet had the desired effect. Throw out another thing to be outraged about and nobody will question it.

A number of experts have said that frames were inserted and then it was speeded up after the insertion point to line up with the original, but the slow-down/speed up was done to make Acosta's hand gesture look more violent. So technically she's correct. But as always, the truth is being obfuscated.

KAC likened the 'speeding up' to the type of analysis that is done with sports on TV every day. In doing this, she denied that any dishonest manipulation of the video footage took place. She is lying, simple as! The footage was altered to show something that did not actually happen in the way that Sanders stated initially, and KAC has now doubled down on.

This is a new departure on the part of this White House, which has been telling verbal lies up to now. This lie is about altering real evidence to depict a new narrative, so that the viewer will dis-believe their own eyes and will accept the manipulated 'evidence' as fact. Now, this attempt at manipulation was ham-fisted and not well done. Imagine what's coming down the line from these professional liars when they actually get their act together and use professional video manipulators. In this case, we all saw the actual incident between Acosta, Trump and the Intern. Therefore we were in a position to immediately think "that's not what I saw" as soon as the doctored footage was tweeted out by Sanders. However, if there had not been a live presser, and the doctored footage was tweeted out depicting an assault by Acosta on the Intern, would we believe our eyes?

Very troubling! Seeing used to be believing... Nowadays, not so much... :(

Shrug. It's a tradition. You're right insofar as it does not appear to have been planned at all, so he couldn't be bothered even to consider it it seems.

Most media links are ones that won't get a hearing but one can put the facts together even so.

    https://www.google.ie/amp/s/www.mediaite.com/online/trump-panned-for-apparently-skipping-arlington-visit-on-veterans-day-what-a-pos/amp/

    Claims to verify;
    - is it traditional to visit when in the country on VD?
    Yes
    - Did other presidents do so?
    Yes
    - Did Trump schedule it?
    Apparently not
    - Did he go?
    No
    - How important is this?
Compared to almost everything else he does and says, the breaking of one more norm is not particularly important - (certainly not in the same week as demanding the recount be stopped before all overseas & military votes are in). It looks pretty weak in a country as military-mad as the US is, especially after France and the pathetic excuse there though. Mind you, the US talks a great talk about honouring their veterans, but it's a bit rubbish at actually supporting them so all in all, the president not bothering to fulfil a tradition intended to honour veterans is symbolically fitting.

Yes, official day was yesterday, every 11th of November, with observance being today.

Anyway, apparently there are reports Matt Drudge has deleted his tweets and wikileaks has gone quiet.
